there is no leftist literature as embarrassing as the "anticorruption is bourgeois and you have to understand that the politics of the working class are inherently patrimonial" literature which followed Lavo Jato and PT's total failure to do literally anything to reform.

The inflation rate is one thing, but you should be thinking about the cumulative figure when trying to understand why the general perception is so sticky. We've seen prices increase 30% over the last six years. An equivalent increase happened over the prior 14 years. That explains a lot to me.

Before elaborating on the points above, let me be clear about what I am not
arguing. First, I am not arguing that U.S. dominance is guaranteed or will
last forever. The United States could easily squander its geopolitical potential. It could, for example, gut its demographic advantage by restricting high-skill immigration. It could allow demagogues and special interests to capture its political institutions and run the country into the ground. Or it could fritter away its resources on reckless adventures abroad.

A trans man in the UK has been banned in the workplace restrooms after he was forced to use the women's restrooms to comply with the new EHRC guidance. The women complained because he is visibly male and so they told him he can't use any bathroom.
A screenshot of a Reddit post from the r/LegalAdviceUK subreddit by user Dijstraanon, titled "FtM transgender facing two different issues at work? England."
The post text reads:
"Brother in law is trans FtM and presents fully as a man. He's now facing an impossible situation at work with his employer telling him that due to recent legislation he must use the toilet of his birth gender. BUT several female colleagues have raised a grievance about him using their gendered toilet.
His employer has told him that he cannot use the toilet while he is at work until they sort it out and cannot give him a timeframe to do so. They do [cut off] have disabled separate toilets.
In the mean time one of his female colleagues has accused him of sexual harassment because he was used their gendered toilet. His menstrual cycle meant he needed to use the toilet.
He's been with the employer for just over 5 years but only in this location for 18 months. The location is mainly male with just a handful of females, and his workshop only has male toilets.
I do not know how to support him and as he's not in a union there is no one to turn too right now."
The post has an orange "Comments Moderated" tag, 169 upvotes, and 134 comments.

I think westerners tend to underestimate just how oppressive copyright is and how much worse it would be if it were possible to enforce globally. Enabling textbook and academic piracy is one of the more liberatory impacts of the internet. Money is too cheap for us to fully understand how vital it is

This, above all else, is my overriding attitude toward debates on the subject. It's actually quite frustrating how many times I've seen otherwise very intelligent, educated and humble people just wander into arguing like they are an expert on all things consciousness, oft times with hackneyed ideas.

The Medical Establishment tells you the truth, and the truth is often “We don’t know”, and that infuriates people. They want to know - and if there isn’t an answer they will invent one, and people will happily shill products to assuage their fears even though they do nothing to help or make it worse

can someone explain to me why the media is trying to hold every Democrat accountable for something a streamer says but nobody cares about Elon Musk being in the Epstein files and posting racist shit like this nonstop as he funds every Republican politician
Derek Chauvin was unjustly convicted of murder, therefore he should be
The facts show that he was not the cause of death, nor did he at any time intend for a death to occur. Whatever else he may be, he is not a murderer.
That is the truth.
