I think the mass paywalling that went into effect in early 2021, along with the encouragement to people to delete their Twitter accounts (not just stop using them, which is understandable, but erase an archive of real-time history) are among the reasons the attempt to wipe out memory has worked.

After unexpectedly winning her first blue ribbon for a sewn cape in 1981, Carol St. Clair Johnson developed an enduring love for the New Mexico State Fair. The quilt Fair New Mexico-41 Fair Years incorporates more than six hundred of the ribbons she won at the fair every subsequent year except 2020 (when the fair was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic). Johnson earned ribbons for needlework, knitting, crochet, pies, cookies, cakes, canning, jewelry, flowers, vegetables, and potted plants. The title of the quilt is a reference to the state song, and the design places the state's Zia sun symbol at the center. The quilt earned Johnson yet another ribbon: Best in Category (miscellaneous quilt) at the 2023 New Mexico State Fair.

Unverified but if this is real, it’s a hilarious way to find out this information.
I texted the premier about 20 minutes ago and almost immediately got a call back from a private number. I recorded the whole call. He said that only 2% of the bike lanes are going to be coming out. I mentioned that Bill 60 says all of University, Bloor, and Avenue are coming out, and he said "no, it never said all the lanes".

This is a little ambiguous to me, because he may have been using 2% to mean 2% of all bike lanes in Toronto (which would explain why he said "it never said all the lanes"), whereas I was referring only to the three main roads mentioned in Bill 60.

He did however mention that it will only be a small portion of them near Royal York road being removed, that he is working with the mayor, and that we can expect to hear news about it within a week or so.

Should I send this conversation to any news companies or community members (biking lawyer/cycle toronto)? What the premier says to a random citizen isn't exactly legally binding lol but maybe it could be of interest?

Toronto needs to respond to this by (finally) using the tools it has to make cars less welcome — no more free parking, increase the cost at Green Ps and *start enforcing traffic laws.* Case in point, you wouldn’t think it was illegal to conceal your license plate. It is. And lower TTC fares.

Being so steeped in American exceptionalism, it is hard for many Americans (and an administration with zero theory of mind) to understand how repugnant the vast majority of Canadians find the thought of becoming a vassal state of the dying empire next door. We will accept more pain in this fight.
That claim was hardly credible. This White House has shown no interest in mutual advantage. Its specialty is zero-sum thinking – and its strategy in this as in other trade negotiations has been to press for concession after concession, with each gain signaling the other side’s willingness to bend yet again under pressure. This, at any rate, is the view that most Canadians have come to. Anxious as they must be about the economic consequences of an escalating trade dispute, three in four say their government was right to walk away. They’d rather bear the costs than capitulate.

American voters, on the other hand, may be unwilling to bear any burden merely to show Canada who’s boss. Already preoccupied with high inflation and economic instability, they must be wondering why anybody is being asked to accept such costs in the first place. As a much bigger economy, the US can more easily withstand the shock of an all-out trade war — but the harms of even higher prices and vanishing jobs will still be painful.
