Doug Ford has a 31% approval rating, the lowest in Canada. Thirty one is still pretty high, to be honest. What will it take to get this deeply corrupt character out of office and out of our lives, Ontario? #OnPoli #DougFordIsCorrupt
An egg-shaped plastic toy from the 70s called a Weeble. It has blond hair, vacant eyes, and a derpy grin. It’s holding a lollipop instead of a Tim Horton’s egg sammich but in every other way resembles Canada’s least popular premier, Doug Ford.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we acknowledge and reflect on the deep intergenerational harm residential schools have caused to Indigenous families and communities. Art by Elaine Landry #OrangeShirtDay #EveryChildMatters #TruthAndReconciliation
A handprint on an orange background. The handprint is broken into segments, inside of which are different symbols representing elements of Indigenous culture, including animal paw prints, landscapes with trees, and other images drawn from nature. There is a large black eagle feather on the left side of the handprint, and bird silhouettes appear in the upper left hand corner of the image. The words EVERY CHILD MATTERS appear at the bottom of the piece.

Researched school trustee candidates in Ward 5. Found Gus Stefanis, former leader of the Canadian Nationalist Party, a far-right, white nationalist party registered with Elections Canada until 2022. Its candidates consistently finished last in their races. Good. Vote carefully, #Toronto. #TOPoli

A city bench locked inside a courtyard with a chained and padlocked gate for no apparent reason whatsoever. Someone should turn this into a Welcome to Toronto postcard.
In the foreground is a black metal gate with a thick chain keeping it closed. A heavy padlock is partially visible behind the gate. In the background of the photo is a brown wooden and metal park bench in an empty courtyard. There is a waterlogged book on the ground to the left of the bench.

We're building a pillbug terrarium in grade 3 so I've spent some time today in the world of isopod hobbyists. 👀 These are rubber ducky isopods. They're on sale at a local shop for $11. EACH! Our roly polies will be scooped up from my patio. FOR FREE! Then again, these little ones are pretty cute...

Being in your 50s is confusing. On paper, I’m 55. At a concert, I’m 24. After 8/9 PM, I’m 88. Getting up off the floor makes me 115. But when the'80s music starts playing, I’m 17 all over again.

On this #FallSolstice I'm thinking about Margaret Scott, my ninth great grandmother, who was hanged on Gallows Hill on September 22, 1692 along with six other people accused of witchcraft during the Salem witch trials. All of the victims were later exonerated. Such a dark chapter. #FamilyHistory
A piece of art depicting the start of fall - artist unknown. A woman wearing green has black hair flowing in the wind. Her dress is covered in leaves that start as green at the top of her dress and change into fall colours as they fall down towards the hem. There's a black bird on her head and the sky is lit by a crescent moon. She is holding a candle in one hand and an apple in the other.

If you know the name of the artist who made this, would love to give them credit.

Spending time this weekend getting ready for work next week? Not if you're Doug Ford! He started his summer break on June 9 and still has 4 weeks to go until he's back at Queen's Park. Wish you had 19 weeks of summer vacay? Should've become a deeply corrupt politician afraid of transparency, babes.
Doug Ford wears a blue apron and pretends to know how to barbecue. It's unclear which of his four homes he is at in this screenshot from a video. It could be his mom's home in Etobicoke that he inherited when she died. It could be his cottage on Fawn Lake. It's probably not one of his two condos in Hallandale, Florida.

Doug Ford. He's just like you and me, folks.

On Sept. 15, 1692, Mary Daniel submitted a deposition to the court of Salem, Massachusetts in which she accused my 9th great grandmother, Margaret Scott, of witchcraft. On Sept. 22, 1692, Margaret was hanged on Gallows Hill along with 7 other accused witches. www.history.com/articles/rea...

I was taken very ill again all over & felt a great pricking in ye soles of my feet, and after a while I saw apparently the shape of Margret Scott, who, as I was sitting in a chair by ye fire pulled me with ye chair, down backward to ye ground, and tormented and pinched me very much, and I saw her go away at ye door, in which fit I was dumb and so continued till ye next morning, finding a great load and heaviness upon my tongue …
There appeared to me the shape of some woman, who seemed to look and speak most fiercely and angrily, and beat, pinch’d and afflicted me very sorely telling me I should not have said so, or told such things & to yt purpose … In some of ye fits yt I had afterwards, I was senseless and knew not yt I saw who it was yt afflicted me. In one fitt (upon ye beginning it) I thought I saw Goodw Jackson, and widow Scott come walking into the chamber with yr staves, one of ym came & sat upon me so yt I could not stir … In another fitt I saw ye appearance of sd Scott in ye room who afflicted me, and being speechless, I continued so, untill I went to ye sd Scott, who taking me by ye hand, I had ye liberty of speech again as formerly. The last fitt I had was upon ye last Sabbth day, in which I saw ye shapes of four women or five, of whom widow Scott was one, ye rest I knew not, nor knew yt any did hurt me, unless sd widow Scott.
