The latest HILDA Survey shows that relationship quality can be a rollercoaster🎢 It starts high, declines until about 24yrs after moving in together, then gradually increases again after age 65. Melbourne Institute found one significant strain on a relationship: financial stress → unimelb.me/4iGARJN

So happy this one wasn't patched yet
Screenshot of a Google search results page. The search box reads "i am phd student and see the pi approaching. wh…" (cut off). Below it, an AI Overview reads: "Look busy immediately. You are in great danger. An approaching PI means you might be given a new project right now." A section headed "Why You Must Act" lists three bullets — High expectations: your PI is warm from a grant meeting and will assign you fast; No escape later: once you make eye contact, it is too late; Preprint defense: your last preprint protects you a little bit, but not against a PI with a new idea. A second section, "Best Actions to Take," lists two bullets — Open a terminal: let something scroll, any output will do; Find a safe spot: get behind the poster tube or a stack of unread reviews. It ends: "Where are you hiding right now? I can help you find a safe spot in the department." A footer note says AI responses may include mistakes.

Two panel comic. Panel 1: a wraith with a long scythe floats over a reflective pool on a surreal, desolate landscape with many moons. There are two guys in sunglasses looking at him blankly. The wraith solemnly says to the guys, “welcome… to the edge of eternity.” Panel 2: one of the guys is taking a photo on his phone of the other guy, who is smiling and posed in front of the landscape, giving a chill “hang loose” 🤙 hand signal. Both of the dudes are wearing fanny packs and the one posing for the picture is wearing a Messi Argentina jersey. The wraith, looking mildly annoyed, says, “stop that.”

Exactly this. The right — and the “centrist” — narrative is that woke pronoun people evilly colonized science which now must be rescued. In reality it was science people who wanted to occasionally have pronouns and then the right was like “oh well in that case we don’t want your cancer research”

Stabbing Guy Meme

the pic is done in a somewhat realistic cartoon/animated style

on the left is a man with brown hair, brown mustache, and orange shirt. he has both arms raised out in front of him as if to ward off or defend against an attacker. this man has text over his head that reads "Me trying not to eat a bunch of cheese"

on the right is another man and he looks like a straight up bad apple. he is wearing blue jeans and a lighter blue 3/4 zip (i am estimating here). he has blonde hair and a blonde goatee but he has the traditional male pattern baldness. he looks to be advancing towards the defending man and in his right hand, he is holding a knife threateningly. this man also has text laid over him that reads "A bunch of cheese"
