hello! i wrote a new fic. childhood friends to sweethearts to lovers to strangers to... unexpected funeral guests? 48k in total, all chapters should be up within the week. please enjoy 💜 edit: now with the actual link lmfao archiveofourown.org/works/94543186

Summary:
Ed and Stede were childhood best friends, then childhood sweethearts, then teenage lovers—and then, quite suddenly, they were nothing.

Stede's fault, he knows. He has never forgiven himself. He expects Ed hasn't, either.

What he doesn't expect is for Ed—now a famous musician, living a life far bigger than Stede or their tiny little hometown—to show up here, today, twenty-five years later. To Stede's father's funeral, of all things.

In the pool house. Of all places.

Pretty sure I spent my entire night's sleep last night dreaming I was running around LAX looking for a Frontier gate 💀 (and I can't even complain because at least that means I slept through the night? technically?)

If someone was going to win an award for being hot at privateering school, it’d be these two boyfriends 😌 #OFMDfanart #OFMD

A digital drawing of Stede Bonnet and Edward Teach from Our Flag Means Death. They’re posing beside large versions of the cake toppers Ed was obsessed with in s2e1 while he was missing Stede. The drawing is done in the style of a recent photo of Taika and Rhys at the Academy Museum where they were standing beside large Oscar Awards. Ed is gazing up at the figure in a pink suit, while Stede is pursing his lips and holding his glasses beside the figure wearing a blue dress. The stand for both figures says “Academy for Wayward Seaman” instead of “Academy Museum of Motion Pictures”

Yay!! Happy to be able to share this one. This chapter is so fun!! I won't lie, I was a bit daunted about drawing a room in the Gardner, but I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity. I'm really pleased with how it came out. Now go read the latest chapter of Forever is a Feeling! #ofmdfanart #ofmd

After a million years, Ch 8 of Forever is a Feeling is here! A little museum date for our boys... and some alone time, at last. I'll let @aliassamm.bsky.social share the gorgeous art, but here's a snip! #OFMDFanfic #OFMD archiveofourown.org/works/802439...

October, 2015

Ed stands outside the museum, huffing warm breaths into his fingers. Fuck, Boston is cold. He always forgets. Not that he had time to pack anything truly warm before he jumped on a spontaneous flight in LA. It felt more urgent to get here than it did to fish out his winter gear from storage in New York (and, let’s be real, his winter gear is just a pair of fingerless gloves at this point).

When Ed sees a sporty little SUV careen around the corner, he fully forgets about the cold. Stede parks like he drives — like an absolute maniac. There’s no way that parallel space he’s slotting into is legal, and he definitely just dinged the Audi in front of him. But when Stede gets out of the car, he’s grinning, jogging toward Ed before he even locks the door, and Ed can’t help the feeling of warmth and relief that washes over him. They’re here. Together. At last.

Ed’s running to meet him before his brain can even tell his feet what to do. They slam into each other for a hug that takes the breath from Ed’s lungs.

Forever is a Feeling, an OFMD AU

A digital drawing of Stede Bonnet and Edward Teach from Our Flag Means Death. Stede is wearing TW’s grey and pink silk jacket with creamy colored trousers and Ed is wearing RO’s black lace dress from the 2023 Met Gala.
