Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is.

Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.

Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.

an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

Do any of my plush friends have advice for picking a manufacturer? Any tips on dealing with samples etc? Are Pantone colors needed?

I 3d printed a little Spiderman for daughter and my friend Miguel, then I hand painted them and added injuries with my d&d model paints! Fun! I love that I can see the progress of the printing, including wip photos, on my phone while I’m getting other errands done.

I love 2005’s Pride and Prejudice, starring Keira Knightly & Matthew Macfadyen and directed by Joe Wright. So I really enjoyed Danny Boyd’s video essay about the great cinematography in the film. Pride & Prejudice isn

We dragged our broken bodies to see Forgotten Island and it was great, you should see it! I always want to push for authentic emotion and relationships, and this movie has it in spades. We need more movies with heart like this. Also I laughed out loud at some of the things that got approved in this.

I loved, loved, loved Forgotten Island. It's wildly oroginal, funny as hell, and about something very real (how memories make us who we are) at the heart of the visually stunning mythological world. My head is still spinning at all the insanly profound ideas...

I’m not done about Forgotten Island. Y’all I’m actually livid about how some people think they can’t relate to films that aren’t about their sex or ethnicity etc. My daughters related so much to Turning Red, Kpop demon hunters and this movie. They remarked how real the girls felt. Fix your heart.

I’m cautiously hopeful about the federal entertainment tax credit bill. If it goes through it might save our industry. The amount of outsourcing and cuts lately has been so heavy that I’ve repeatedly wondered if I’d have to move and I don’t know… paint duck stamps. I’m not good at painting ducks.

This dovetails nicely into what I said before about true crime just being a false narrative farm for attention/clicks. It’s not about getting true justice, it doesn’t even tell the truth (just a story that’s the most sensational) and it often exploits or damages victims. youtu.be/UDIvfcy3ZJk?...

We need more things made from people’s deep personal feelings, not less. We need less committee, less algorithm. The good stuff comes from people souls without being heavily tampered with by rich businessmen who know nothing about art or story. People want to connect with that gem inside.
