Do not hoard what seems good for a later place in the book or for another book; give it, give it all, give it now. The impulse to save something good for a better place later is the signal to spend it now. Something more will arise for later, something better. These things fill from behind, from beneath, like well water. Similarly, the impulse to keep to yourself what you have learned is not only shameful, it is destructive. Anything you do not give freely and abundantly becomes lost to you. You open your safe and find ashes.

#wipwednesday some smutty fun I’ve been noodling around with. The bird Stede bought for Louis starts mimicking the moans Stede makes after he lets off steam from hanging around his bff Ed. Ed’s on his way over. Stede freaks out.

Then here comes Ed, with effortless, casual touches on Stede’s shoulder and arm and behind the neck, and smiles thrown his way from jokes that Stede told, and texts and calls and the seemingly insignificant phrasing of “I wouldn’t go without you,” or “I need to see your face” that have left Stede—

“Fuck—oh, Ed—squawk—oh, Ed—oh, god…”

This is no fluke; Stede is not making this up. That’s his voice and his climax. He just didn’t realize he was being so—noisy about it.

What does he do? His whole body is one big prickle, heart racing and getting sticky from burgeoning sweat. And what if Ed hears this and has questions? And what happens when Louis comes back this weekend? How does Stede explain that? No way Stede can turn over this defective bird to Louis that’s now programmed with the sound of his father’s—fuck. No.

Like a dozen other things before Karl, Stede has ruined this bird

I've had to re-write so much of this, but here's some proof on this glorious #sexualsunday that I have been working on the Robin Byrd/Taste of Desire book fic.

The execution was unsteady, warm with the awkwardness of a first time undertaking, but Stede made up for it with adherence to his purpose. Though he was lacking in the appeal, he eased into it when he thought of it less as a plastic dildo and more—more of a biological specimen. Where he could trace his tongue over skin and find the texture of a frenulum and glide his tongue along the smooth lip of the corona.

When Stede thought about it like this, biologically, he could see how a person could enjoy having a penis in their mouth.

One look over at Ed told Stede that he was on the right track. Ed’s lips hung slightly apart, his eyes focused thoroughly on Stede’s expert technique and the shedding of shame that came from his scientific demonstration. He was, as Ed said, a man of action.

“Then at the tip, once the penis is ready, we can use our lips in what I call in the book, the ‘Suck and Slide.’”

My husband told me he's been having recurring dreams about being a lighthouse keeper and it's gotten so vivid he's considering a career change. He's an accountant. Has never expressed interest in maritime anything. Woke up last week to him googling "how to become lighthouse keeper 2024" at 3am.
Asked him about it and he got really serious and said the dreams feel "like a calling" which is concerning because we live in Nebraska. Looked into it thinking he'd lose interest when he saw the reality but there's apparently a whole certification process and he's ALREADY SIGNED UP. Told his boss he's pursuing "other opportunities" without discussing it with me first. His parents think this is a midlife crisis but he's 32. Called my sister freaking out and she said "honestly? Let him try, he'll quit in a week when he realizes it's cold and boring" but what if he doesn't?? We'd have to MOVE to a coast. He showed me brochures. BROCHURES. Asked what triggered this and he said "the lighthouse needs me" like he's been chosen. We don't even own a boat. This man does taxes and now he wants to shine lights at ships. Marriage is wild.
