My mates used to laugh at me when I was driving the 2CV. As I’m so heavy, the car would lean to the right. Fella told me that the ones they race, they convert to a single centre seat for balance.

Unsurprisingly, I also love this idea. Driven a couple of 2CVs but never owned.

Don’t think that 10,000 times would have been enough. It’s laughably safe. Whereas, Dr. John still sounds completely scuzzy, dangerous and utterly fucked up nearly 60 years later.

Coffee outside Chalk. Ruined by that godforsaken karaoke busker in the flying jacket. Remind me to bring noise cancellers next time. Maybe I should dust off the battery amp and do some blues harmonica busking.

Over 40% of corn grown in Indiana is used to make ethanol that cars burn. One acre of corn yields about 16,500 vehicle-miles per year of ethanol, which sounds high until you realize that one acre of solar yields about 2,700,000 vehicle-miles per year: 16,000% more driving for a given plot of land.

Yeah. Not even any suitable furniture to lock onto. My usual coffee spot is Fork and Flavour on the canal. Also no bike stands. It’s a damn site more relaxing on the canalside too. It’s a busy road this.

Had to be in Boughton this morning, so it’s a different location for a coffee stop. Cakes and patisserie come recommended, so I’m taking a couple of warm scones home.
Chairs outside a cafe on the main road. Next to the cafe is a butchers and behind that a micro bar.
There’s a bike locked outside the cafe.

I don’t think I’m ever going to get the appeal of pivoting to video for podcasts. I’ve been listening to podcasts for 20 years, and never once have I thought, my God, I need to SEE these people! I’m on a walk or doing the dishes, I don’t need video.

It’s a lil comic!

Panel 1: a smiling man holds up a tablet playing a video of a cat on a unicycle playing a drum. “Look! A cat drummer on a unicycle!”

Panel 2: frowning onlookers smugly say “it’s just AI.”

Panel 3: the cat, at home, looks hopeful. “So? Did they like it?” The man, sad, says, “your talent fell upon the worst possible era.”

Lovely beery wobble around our great city. Being part of an informal stag-do is not my usual style. But it was great to hear how much a small bunch of Stockport lads enjoyed this wonderful city. I’ve left them to it - so hopefully they all behave before they get the 7pm train home.
