This is right. The issue is that LLMs are at best a $50 billion/year revenue type business and they've invested in it like it's going to be $500 billion/year in revenue or more. The mismatch is potentially trillions in capex overspend which is enough to cause a deep recession when the bubble pops.

While I’m making people mad by claiming consumers get what they want, a lot of consumers really do like big houses with no lot lines in the exurbs. Good urban form exists in lower quantities than demand for it but I think exurban housing has a very high demand and that’s why there’s so much of it.

Really feels like a lot of people my age that were so ambitious in their careers and doing incredible things have decided that it's not worth it anymore and are deciding to prioritize their personal lives instead and trying to retire early. It's anecdotal but I'm seeing this across the board.

Actual working class people (and non-college-educated is a poor proxy in many regards) tend to be a lot more focused on wages and prices. That may seem small and narrow to middle class people, but that's because, by definition, middle class people have enough money to focus on bigger ticket items.
