Christophe Haubursin of "Tunnel Vision" did an excellent video on ragebait recently that discusses this phenomenon (the "Zuckerberg Curve") + how content that approaches the policy line of banned content tends to get the most engagement! youtu.be/zCvPPaIN5Ew

People (at least in this article) aren't going "Durrrr, who should I vote for Grok?" They are using AI tools bc Google Search is utter crap nowadays. As long as you CHECK YOUR SOURCES(!) and see where the AI is pulling its info, this willingness to make an informed vote is a good thing!
Excerpt from article:

Several voters NPR spoke with said they rely on chatbots for down-ballot races - with thinner news coverage, to make tables comparing candidates for governors' races and to verify or debunk viral claims. Some have been using it to create tools to help others look up their own ballots. Experts say the properties that make chatbots useful also make them subtly persuasive and eager to please.

@bsky.app / @support.bsky.team — What is going on with asterisks? For some reason any leading asterisk next to a capital letter is center-aligned vertically while most others are top-aligned, e.g.: • *A* (both centered) • *a* (both upper) • *A* word (leading centered, trailing upper)

Yeah, even if the sentiment is understandable, it's ultimately way more efficient to build giant solar farms in the middle of nowhere than on top of car parks or buildings (though those also provide other benefits like shade), and I too am concerned by posts being shared on Instagram like these:

I was originally going to say the Falklands but it seems like the French beat out the British by a year. 😂 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falklan...
Screenshot of Wikipedia article on the Falklands with excerpt:

History

Although Fuegians from Patagonia may have visited the Falkland Islands in prehistoric times, the islands were uninhabited when Europeans first explored them. European claims of discovery date back to the 16th century, but no consensus exists on whether early explorers sighted the Falklands or other islands in the South Atlantic. The first undisputed landing on the islands is attributed to English captain John Strong, who, en route to Peru and Chile's littoral in 1690, explored the Falkland Sound and noted the islands' water and game.

The Falklands remained uninhabited until the 1764 establishment of Port Louis on East Falkland by French captain Louis Antoine de Bougainville and the 1765 foundation of Port Egmont on Saunders Island by British captain John Byron; the latter settlement being expanded by British captain John MacBride a year later. Whether or not the settlements were aware of each other's existence is debated by historians. In 1766, France surrendered its claim on the Falklands to Spain, which renamed the French colony Puerto Soledad the following year. Problems began when Spain detected and captured Port Egmont in 1770. War was narrowly avoided by its restitution to Britain in
1771.

I posted this to the Long Beach subreddit—their worst year on record for traffic fatalities is still half that of STL.

"I moved here from St. Louis, MO, which has twice the per capita traffic fatality rate of Long Beach (STL = 23 fatalities per 100K vs. LBC = 12 per 100K).

"I didn't realize though that 2025 was Long Beach's worst year on record for traffic fatalities—even if half of St. Louis, that's still not great!"

San Jose‽! The city whose median salary is double the national average? sanjosespotlight.com/fact-brief-i...
Screenshot of article from Gigafact with text:

"YES: San Jose’s median household income is roughly $141,565 a year, according to 2023 U.S. Census Bureau data. It’s defined by the median annual earnings of all members of a single household before taxes and adjusted for inflation yearly.

"The city’s median income per household is almost double the national average of $80,610 per year. San Jose hit the six-figure mark in 2018, when median household income reached $104,234.

"Nearby cities Milpitas, Sunnyvale, Palo Alto and Mountain View top San Jose’s numbers and rank among the top 10 highest household incomes in the U.S., according to a U.S. News & World Report analysis of 2023 U.S. Census Bureau data."

I meant *literally* after each candidate—the bolded text only says "RECOMMEND." You (generic) really have to *hammer through repetition* or else people forget, take things out of context, + misunderstand. (It is very annoying that people do this!) DSA definitely not at fault but could be improved.
Screenshot of DSA voter guide excerpt regarding Maine senate candidate Graham Platner:

"Look - Platner isn't the perfect candidate. His unforced errors reflect a campaign that needs to tighten up and stop running like they know he's in the lead. We aren't going to rehash all the very real concerns about his time as a Blackwater mercenary, or online posting history, or his lack of careful language. But his campaign is riding a wave of populist anger against MAGA and provides a crucial opportunity to take out the forever unpopular, but still powerful, Susan Collins. If someone is committed to growth and shows a willingness to be better than they have been, then we have to take this chance while it's available.

"We RECOMMEND that you vote for Graham Platner for U.S. Senate."
