Get in Loser, we're going to Grind the North Horn*. #ff14 #ffxiv * not a euphemism

My character (back, female Au Ra) and my wife's character (front, male Miquote) in a swish car from Final Fantasy 14.

Its sort of fascinating how so many of the people boosting AI into cultural areas are basically saying "I don't want to see or hear anything genuinely new ever again, just the same stuff forever thank you"

I feel its unfair that when a grizzly bear eats excessively for a couple of weeks to fatten up for winter its "nature's miracle" and a "feelgood news story" but when I do it, it's "unhealthy" and "for God's sake Matt stop eating Love Hearts"

Anyway, this tiny Criminal managed to blag bikkits out of the Eldest this morning and then convinced me he hadn't had bikkits so got fed twice. He did the same yesterday. He regrets nothing.

Zero Company understands two important things: - the tragedy of the Clone Army is a great story that Star Wars stumbled into but really works. - few problems can't be solved by the violent application of a Glow-Stick armed Bug Girl.

Foxes In Love @foxes-in-love.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

A comic of two foxes, one of whom is blue, the other is green. In this one, Blue and Green are sitting at a table, in front of a game board set up with several character figurines and various pieces of landscape terrain. On the table is also a measuring tape and a scattering of dice.
Green: Okay, that makes six. How many points did we need to dodge that strike?
Blue: Eight.
Green: Oof.

Both of the foxes look at the board pensively.
Blue: I guess that concludes the campaign. Another party wiped out in their first combat encounter.
Green: At this point we're just feeding adventurers to highwaymen.

Calling it a day on this; I wanted to go for a worn, sort of realistic look rather than a clean animated one but not sure it totally got there. But a fun little project off my usual beat nonetheless. #Nerdlings

The Savoni seaplane from Ghibli Studio's Porco Rosso it sits on a eat little wooden trolley which is a cool addition.

Top view of the seaplane. Actually a pretty simple kit but I still managed to over assem le it before painting (I should have left the wings off)

Front view. The whole underside holds the interior detail and slots in, so I've left it unglued in case I want to display the interior detail.

Interior detail, absolutely none of which is visible in the completed kit.

I confess to quite enjoying the nature of coffee shop culture but not the bit where you stuck behind someone ordering a "lukewarm mocha-chocky with Rabbit Milk and Sunflower syrup and a pot of tea but with no tea and a small pot of aquarium water"

My hot take on "best of" lists is they're inherently a bit silly but you can take both them and the comments of recommendations of omitted shows as a handy viewing guide if you like.

As a former World of Warcaft junkie I'm mildly fascinated by WoW Forevers pitch as a massively nostaligic take on a 20 year old game. It seems to be positioned like everything they did since was a terrible mistake?

Look, MMOs are a big silly time sink but FF14 just let me have a Big Pink Tachikoma mount and thats awesome. Z has one too so we can buddy up as a Big Pink Spider Team.

A big pink spider tank mount from Final Fantasy 14 which may be my new favorite thing.

Another article from the Graun that frames ASD/ADHD as if its a sort of middle class fad. The article does manage to note that maybe this is due to unequal access to diagnosis and support but a lot of references to "leafy suburbs" here.

Guardian headline: young people's Pip claims for ADHD and autism 'rising fastest in affluent areas'

One of the fun side effects of starting to title all my RPG sessions after songs is that sometimes you come across a song you just need to name a session after so that becomes a scenario seed.
