Hepatocellular carcinoma organoids enable drug discovery and combination therapy across heterogeneous tumors
Nuciforo et al. establish a biopsy-derived organoid biobank spanning the clinical diversity of liver cancer and use large-scale phenotypic screening to build rational drug combinations. Because the combined agents act through complementary mechanisms, triplet therapies remain effective across heterogeneous tumors, with in vivo efficacy and favorable tolerability supporting translational potential.

I have a kia ev6 that I extended the lease on. Kia finance has an offer of a rebate on the buyout, but can't tell me what it is. If they'd tell me, I would buy it. I have to go to a dealer to find this out. No dealer will tell me the number.

Modular grant level was set nearly 30 years ago, in 1998. A single modular R01 cannot support a research lab with mammal models, the LARC expenses alone will deplete the budget.

I fundamentally disagree with this. We cannot reform the NIH right now. We need to fight against ALL changes until we have an administration that isn’t hellbent on destruction. Until then we have to assume that literally everything is being done in bad faith.

Science peeps, particularly trainees: When reviewing grants, it really, really helps if you have a Google Scholar page, an ORCID account, or a website that makes getting information about you, easy. Some sort of web presence. I'm begging you. Make it easier for study sections to give you money.

Despite its record low funding, we have an exciting new drug target relevant to #SCLC and other tumors classified as neuroendocrine tumors but with tuft-like identity. The most exciting target of my career! We just need a journal who wants to send it out to review. 🤷🏻‍♀️

For context, this is one hundred ninety-two thousand, five-year biomedical research grants. More than five years of complete funding for the entirety of the NIH for cancer, heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, blindness, epilepsy, infectious diseases, etc… An entire generation of scientists.

Interesting to see tests like this. I think concrete examples that work/don't work are more interesting than a lot of the arguments at the extremes and can be done more quickly as models change.

If you wish to submit a public comment on this, you can do so at www.regulations.gov/commenton/OM.... Public comments regarding the legality of the rule, how arbitrary and capricious the changes are, negative impacts on cities and states, etc can be used as evidence in subsequent lawsuits.
