Every time I see Ted Cruz trying to use a Senate hearing to prosecute a witness, I’m reminded that he still uses all the tricks of being a policy debater to try box in his opponent—and those tricks are explicitly designed to show off rhetorical fluency as a substitute for fact-finding.
