If you thought your job as developer was to just write code you were doing it wrong. Code was NEVER the objective. It was always a tool to solve problems: for yourself or other people. Be obsessed with solving problems no matter what tool you have and you’ll be okay.

It looks like polished copper and it’s the English designed iron camelback truss Waibaidu Bridge over the estuary of the Suzhou Creek near its confluence with the Huangpu River, adjacent to the Bund in central Shanghai. I feel like we need a reminder sometimes, so there is no amount of extra hours you could've worked to keep from getting laid off. Seniority, company loyalty, importance to the project - none of it matters when you're a number on a spreadsheet. Anyone telling you different is selling something.

it's pretty funny that the World Cup has sensors that detect the ball's rotation, acceleration, and location every .002 seconds (not exaggerating, the actual tech specs of the sensor) but also the game gets to the end and the ref says "ok I think 9 more minutes ... maybe more if I feel like it"
