I made a site to explain System One thinking (Jev is an example of this)! We make fast judgments all day, some models can too. The guide explains how to use those quick judgments in software. In my typical way, it leverages interactive animations, and Night Owl 🦉 system-one-explainer.netlify.app

I thought at first I would get tired of the Jerry jokes @jcsalterego.bsky.social, but now I see that it’s the neverending constant in these trying times. No matter what happens, we’re all united each day in knowing we should all be unfollowing Jerry.

Some 14 year anniversary came up of me joining Twitter. It was 14 years ago that @shanley.com came to my desk, put both hands on it, looked me in the eye and said “you HAVE to be on Twitter”. I had been refusing, and she was my boss. Best thing anyone ever did for my career, honestly.

I’m excited to share that we've added a consequential hint to the WebMCP spec! For site devs: set to true when WebMCP tools may perform a high-stakes action: anything that needs explicit user permission in order to execute. If you’re going to make a purchase, send an email, or book travel.

Ok I have a joke for you that I made up Some devs were setting up a project where every directory was a letter of the alphabet. But the build wasn't compiling. One thought the problem was in the "G" directory, but the other said "see I see D"

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

“All em-dashes in these slides were human-generated.”
Photo of a man at a podium, standing in front of a giant screen containing a presentation he is making to an off-camera audience. At the bottom of the screen, a footnote says "All em-dashes in these slides were human generated." A headline reads "Em dash disclaimers are now showing up in presentations" (essentially narrating what the photo already shows us).

Quick reminder that right brained/left brained concepts are a myth. While hemispheres have different functions, your brain has plasticity and being good at STEM doesn’t mean you can’t be creative/artistic/musical or vice versa. Believing you can’t is the only limitation.
