Everyone is out on bail and no one can say what the plot was and not a single journalist that i have seen has even arched an eyebrow. British journalism is hilarious
Beth rigby: BREAKING: PM tells MP that RAF plot was "almost certainly" directed by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard and says UK will bring further sanctions to restrict the capacity or Iran and the IRGC to do us harm

In particular the notion that anti-Christian discrimination is a real problem in Western countries is a far-right fantasy. Our esteemed representatives in the EuroParl want to make lists of viewpoints which indicate someone has been radicalised by extremists, when they themselves are expressing them

Would like to see a journalist ask the 7 of Ireland's 14 MEPs (3 FG, 3 FF, 1 II) who just voted to: -endorse burqa bans -call "hatred of Israel" a sign of "Islamist influence" -identify European Muslim communities as potential tools of "malign foreign actors" to justify themselves
Believes that the practice of concealing the face in public spaces and premises open to the public poses an unacceptable challenge to public security, identification and effective law enforcement; supports, therefore, all national measures aimed at prohibiting full-face coverings (niqab or burqa) in public spaces and premises open to the public as a necessary step to ensure social cohesion, public safety and the protection of the rights and freedoms of others, in particular womenwhereas separatist narratives, systematic victimhood, antisemitism, anti-Christian hatred, hatred of Israel, conspiracy narratives, challenges to secularism, the use of religion as a tool of social control or the contestation of equality between women and men may constitute markers of ideological radicalisation or Islamist influence;whereas the ongoing investigations into suspected electoral fraud in Borlänge and Järva, Sweden, illustrate the particular vulnerability of diaspora communities to organised attempts at electoral influence; whereas such vulnerabilities may be exploited by malign foreign actors or transnational ideological networks pursuing covert agendas

When we solve the USA problem we absolutely need to make sure they never have sovereignty again. They've blasted their culture at the world long enough for us to know how to govern them humanely and protect them from themselves.

Not sure why anyone bothers with anti-AI activism when the most effective strategy would be to just point as many microphones as possible to its most vocal champions.

The good men, the friends and lovers even, say to me later "well why didn't you just tell that creep off" as though I wouldn't be accused of starting shit, as though they'd stand up for me and not interrogate me to make the creep comfortable instead. Experience tells me most men will do the latter.

The next day I hear about what happened later, the wild experiences, strengthened bonds or odd opportunities all of which I would have loved to have been part of! But I left, bc for me, leaving was the smart choice, the safe one. But saying why I left makes the men roll their eyes; nothing happened!

It happens so often it can be hard to even see. Men having the same experience I am, but I hit a place where the attention becomes unpleasant. Inuendos start. I have to wiggle out of something I did not start (cautiously! trying not to upset any dangerous egos!) so I leave, while the men get to stay

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

I will never forget all the cynical gainsaying and disinformation about the strike on Al-Ahli hospital ten days into Israel’s destruction of Gaza. ‘Fog of war’. Almost three years later, fewer than half of Gaza’s hospitals remain even partially functional and there is no fog. Only dust and rubble.

The formatting of this Beckett quote does still represent resilience and determination, just of a very different sort.
A neon light art piece of Samuel Beckett's famous quote "I can't go on. I'll go on" but spaced - it would seem inadvertently- so that it reads "I can't goon. I'll goon".

Lots of content treating Irish players as if they were fucking toddlers and not wealthy and in some cases very rich adult men. There’s is plenty of shame to go around from the FAI right on down to the players themselves.

Protesters amassed in Gosport, Hampshire, after rumours spread that the migrants might be brought ashore by lifeboats there. Police closed off access roads to the marina as activists rallied by Thomas on YouTube arrived to attempt to block the boat’s arrival. Crowds of masked protesters confronted a line of police to chants of “let them drown” sung by a child over a megaphone.
