Have been a regular for ~35 years at Lansdowne but couldn’t stomach it this evening. None of us took our season ticket seats. Would have enjoyed seeing that goal live but struggling to articulate how we feel about this team. It was good to see the protest there despite RTÉ cutting away a lot.

Apropos of nothing, Áine, the Irish goddess associated with a legend where, when raped/assaulted by the King of Munster, she bites his ear* off and renders him unfit to rule as he's no longer "unblemished", taking from him his power. *Stories often mention it was another, more appropriate body part
Drawing of Áine with a severed ear floating above her open palm.

I’m listening to a podcast about AI psychosis and it reminds me so much of spiritualism in the early twentieth century: also a con, also preyed on people who were convinced it promised some eternal truths wrapped up in great personal significance.

In the late 90s I went to a hypnotherapist to cure an anxiety issue i had. He sexually assaulted me in his office. And you know what I did when I left that office? I went to reception and paid for the appointment I just had. If I had ever reported it officially, my paying after would have saved him.

Follow people online who have similar life experiences to me, so single and/or childfree, but lately one of the single ones has veered into openly hating men and one of the childfree ones said the sound of children playing across the road infuriated her, and just wondering why can't people be normal

A mixed media #painting. One of Dublin's most loved buildings. "Sunlight Chambers", as seen from along the edge of Grattan Bridge's Hippocamp lamps, I painted because few sights in Ireland can instantly convert me back into childhood than seeing its ceramic friezes close up. #SpéirGhorm #ArtYear
Portrait format in black ink and watercolour on paper. Starting from the left edge is a view along the top of the green metal rail of Grattan bridge showing half a dozen copper lamps, on their Hippocampus stands of metal painted green, almost directly in line so there is little to no space between them as they recede. Beyond them is a building, four stories, on a corner, with side of 2 windows width directly facing viewer, and a short angled side of one window width at the left corner edge behind lamp-posts. Lowest story is mostly stone, in pale blues and lilacs, with arches above the windows and a decorative blue medallion between the two arches facing viewer. Above arches and rest of building is yellow with wide figurative bands of blue above and below the 2nd story. Windows are made up of little black panes - narrow, twinned, and arched on 3rd story, topped with triangles on 2nd story. Window arches, triangles, and side supporting columns are blue. Signed bottom right in black ink, Liam Daly

Happy Michaelmas! In some parts of Ireland on this day, rent could be paid in geese. If you’re due to pay rent this month, please consider setting a very irritated goose on your landlord in lieu of payment, in the name of upholding important Irish traditions.
A drawing of mine of a goose looking concerned, with a tag around its neck that reads "This month's rent, with thanks".

People unfamiliar with Austen think her romantic heroes are unrealistically dashing and charming, but that's actually the villains. The romantic heroes in Austen are usually just consistent, kind, steadfast, and at least 50% likely to be a practicing member of the clergy

It’s illustrative that most of the leftist south is concerned with the Irish football team, while the north sits on a precipice. Can chew gum & clap at the same time and all that, indifference is also grand, but just don’t be cosplaying parts of the conflict here when it comes to election time 👍
