"You're just saying that because you're friends with artists." I'm saying it because AI storyboards are BORING AF.

i've worked at places that were really strict and secure and would never let something like this even into developer builds, but also i've worked at a places where everyone in the department shared a single login to cloud services because the company was cheap

a lot of folks are asking how someone can do something so "stupid" as hard coding a secret token, and i'm telling you that you are holding software developers and companies on way too high a pedestal if you still think there's secure, quality code being sent out into the world

werner herzog on AI filmmaking (from here www.indiewire.com/features/int...)
Q: A couple years ago at IDFA, I saw this movie "About a Hero," which is this partly Al-generated hybrid documentary that tries to recreate the atmosphere of your films.

A: The intention of this young filmmaker was never to remake any [of my films], but making something in the spirit. And I immediately said, "You will fail. It is such a stupid idea. It's phenomenally, abysmally stupid. I will not take part in it." He wanted me to explain things and have my voice in it.
I said, "You are alone. There's such a thing as free speech, which I respect. So go ahead and fail." And it is a failure, period.
It's so standardized that Al can step in because there's not real storytelling. It's mimicry of something that has happened before. And I welcome Al to replace all the idiots who are into nothing but repeating, repeating, repeating until it's ad nauseam.
When it's ad nauseam, please, please, please let Al step in and do the job.

I wouldn't call myself a cartoonist, but I had the vision and just needed it to be on paper to the best of my ability.
A hand drawn eight panel cartoon. First two panels are a colander sitting frowning on a shelf. Then the colander is frowning straining pasta, then three more panels of frowning sitting on a shelf. Then a big panel where it's projecting a bunch of crescent eclipse shapes and smiling with speech bubbles around saying "Wow! Look! Amazing! Beautiful!" And then one final panel where it's sitting on a shelf smiling.

Blind box.
What do we seek' asks Girl. 'Food.' '-but novelty,' she says. 'And shelter.' 'The mild surprise, the new thing, unboxed. 'Which are getting kind of pricey' says Cat. 'What does the blind box reveal - ' 'Its contents?' asks Cat. ' - but a need to channel the ambient instability of our age into a controllable, consumable toy version of itself.' 'I tried unboxing once' says Cat. 'So why not both.' 'But I couldn't get the gloves to fit.' 'Why not BLIND BOXES but for FOOD?' 'Beans!' says Cat, peering into an unmarked can. He opens a second can. 'Beans?' A third can. 'Beans. What's the surprise?' 'Botulism!' Says Girl. 'Twenty percent of the world's wealth I owned by one percent of its population.'

Placeholders are neon green MS Paint stick figures or Super Mario Brothers 3 sprites or photos you stole off GIS. That's because you want to make it *impossible* to miss that they're meant to be temporary. You don't make 98%-there placeholders. Because that would be stupid, and a waste of time.

Today Microsoft moved all its GitHub copilot subscribers to token-based billing. If you want to see what happens when people have to pay the actual costs of AI, the day is finally here. It's obvious that every customer sees the deep, meaningful value and isn't angry at all.

This is hilarious. For context I used the Copilot Orchestrator that has Condutor, Planning, Implementator and Code review agents. But with the new "usage based pricing", seems like this is not an ideal setup anymore?
Anyone has the same experience here? I am on Copilot Prot. This is so expensive.r/GithubCopilot • 6h ago

First day of the new pricing model, I tried one prompt to just refine one of my existing change proposal, basically a conductor with few sub agents to update the existing change spec, architecture, test plan, prototype, tech spec and implementation plan.
About 20-30 mins task, ends up burning 16% of my monthly credits in one shot.
Bye.

yeah, no shit, this is what happens when you spend plus infinity dollars on tokens and plus zero dollars on platform like CI and observability. going faster without steering or validation is just spinning in place, or lurching into a crash.

Four panel comic: panel one shows a wall with floral wallpaper and three “thnk” sound effects; panel two shows an axe tearing through with a loud “WHUNK”; panel three shows Garfield appearing through the hole with narrowed eyes, saying “Who are you gonna serve that soggy lasagna to, Jon?”; panel four shows Garfield with angry eyes and baring his teeth, yelling with censored grawlix symbols, “FUCKING AQUAMAN?!”

This is drawn as a reference to the Hbomberguy video meme.
