As long as you aren't a dumbass like the lady who claims her sister used AI to generate the "Lake America" sweaters when she was came to Nova Scotia for some credit union conference (she's since been fired), you might get a "sorry you're dealing with that shit" but mostly just regular hospitality.

"You're just saying that because you're friends with artists." I'm saying it because AI storyboards are BORING AF.

I saw a JD Vance Halloween decoration at Home Depot.
3.5 foot tall animatronic baby troll Halloween decoration that I think looks like JD Vance.

Maybe like JD Vance and Marc Andreessen had a baby.

i've worked at places that were really strict and secure and would never let something like this even into developer builds, but also i've worked at a places where everyone in the department shared a single login to cloud services because the company was cheap

a lot of folks are asking how someone can do something so "stupid" as hard coding a secret token, and i'm telling you that you are holding software developers and companies on way too high a pedestal if you still think there's secure, quality code being sent out into the world

werner herzog on AI filmmaking (from here www.indiewire.com/features/int...)
Q: A couple years ago at IDFA, I saw this movie "About a Hero," which is this partly Al-generated hybrid documentary that tries to recreate the atmosphere of your films.

A: The intention of this young filmmaker was never to remake any [of my films], but making something in the spirit. And I immediately said, "You will fail. It is such a stupid idea. It's phenomenally, abysmally stupid. I will not take part in it." He wanted me to explain things and have my voice in it.
I said, "You are alone. There's such a thing as free speech, which I respect. So go ahead and fail." And it is a failure, period.
It's so standardized that Al can step in because there's not real storytelling. It's mimicry of something that has happened before. And I welcome Al to replace all the idiots who are into nothing but repeating, repeating, repeating until it's ad nauseam.
When it's ad nauseam, please, please, please let Al step in and do the job.

It's like they've never seen a boom/bust construction or extraction cycle. My home town is about to enter another one due to yet another hydro project. "Wow look at all these jobs, this is never going to end" *5 years later* "what happened to all the jobs? It's the workers fault."

Mine used to do a similar look when she was young (she's a little old 11 year old lady this year). She still does, but this is still the best picture I ever got of it. It's a stupid cute pose.
A picture of my dog Echo when she was a year or so old. Lying down on a carpeted stair landing, resting her about between her paws looking a bit glum.

She's a yellow haired cockapoo with a white moustache.

I wouldn't call myself a cartoonist, but I had the vision and just needed it to be on paper to the best of my ability.
A hand drawn eight panel cartoon. First two panels are a colander sitting frowning on a shelf. Then the colander is frowning straining pasta, then three more panels of frowning sitting on a shelf. Then a big panel where it's projecting a bunch of crescent eclipse shapes and smiling with speech bubbles around saying "Wow! Look! Amazing! Beautiful!" And then one final panel where it's sitting on a shelf smiling.

My home province was lucky enough that when noted nut and media mogul Geoff Stirling died he had a son and grandson who were set up to run things and they are also weird, and are keeping the family owned TV station weird.

Blind box.
What do we seek' asks Girl. 'Food.' '-but novelty,' she says. 'And shelter.' 'The mild surprise, the new thing, unboxed. 'Which are getting kind of pricey' says Cat. 'What does the blind box reveal - ' 'Its contents?' asks Cat. ' - but a need to channel the ambient instability of our age into a controllable, consumable toy version of itself.' 'I tried unboxing once' says Cat. 'So why not both.' 'But I couldn't get the gloves to fit.' 'Why not BLIND BOXES but for FOOD?' 'Beans!' says Cat, peering into an unmarked can. He opens a second can. 'Beans?' A third can. 'Beans. What's the surprise?' 'Botulism!' Says Girl. 'Twenty percent of the world's wealth I owned by one percent of its population.'

What's blowing my mind is that I really only reliably notice that cut with the sound off. With sound on, I have at least a 50% chance of missing an obvious cut I am trying to watch for.

I think one question one should ask oneself before launching a feature like "generate fake satellite imagery" is "does this have any legitimate use-cases?" Everybody who approved this stupid feature should be fired. www.npr.org/2026/07/31/n...

Google pauses AI satellite images, after fears of deepfakes in the sky
Journalists, human rights advocates and open source analysts recoiled in horror at the initial decision: "The opportunities for abuse and disinfo are literally boundless," said one.

Sometimes the people you think are hot are dumb and mean. And once they speak, you don't think they are hot anymore. No person whose livelihood depends on being hot is going to risk losing customers like that.
