People are going to clown on this but we need to remember that planning for local context is important: a city with Los Angeles, California’s semi-arid Mediterranean climate only gets sunshine ~300 days a year; so it’s important to make sure you can never ever find shade in the middle of the day.

Also confusing: there are two types of ALPR camera. There's the fixed type that is often put up on poles and then there is the in-vehicle type that departments put into police and parking enforcement cars and they rove around.

Just had a conversation and realized people are really confused about surveillance cameras and aren't really differentiating between ALPR, CCTV, and speed cameras. And this is fair, especially because you can run ALPR software on CCTV feeds.

On January 1st, Seattle’s minimum wage will increase to $22.14 per hour, no matter your employer. This victory *for* working people was won *by* working people: organizers, unions, and community members who made history on May Day, 2014.
Graphic with blue background and artistically rendered money. Text reads, “when costs rise, paychecks should rise with them.” Then, in smaller text, “Seattle’s minimum wage is increasing to $22.14 in 2027 — a 3.9% increase.” In the lower right, it says “city of Seattle Mayor Katie B. Wilson”
