Continuing work on the vaguely-lego spaceship. Feeling like I'm close to done with the exterior geometry! Then to see if I can summon the effort for an interior, or textures. Maybe textures #blender3d #lego #spaceship

we do the ha-ha clueless thing but the truth imo is that it is culturally possible to grow up male-- and this is not intended as self-flagellation, just as descriptive-- without really internalizing that women also have sexual agency, which means you miss when they're exercising it at you

Little one-day doodle for the longest day of the year. Inspired by some of Destiny's menu graphics Feels like I could make this a lot better with more time to iterate on it, but I told myself it was a one day doodle and I'm sticking to that! #blender3d #houdini #cgi
A geometric sunburst pattern with a glowing star in the center. There are 12 primary rays and 12 secondary rays extending from the center, 3 faint concentric rings in the background. There are stars visible in the backdrop. The whole thing is vaguely reminiscent of Destiny menu graphics, which is where I got the inspiration from

A cozy little space cabin! #blender3d #b3d #digitalart #newart #sci-fi #spaceship
A sci-fi image of a small cabin/hotel room on a spaceship. Neptune or something like it is visible out the window. There's a few wood accents and some more plastic and metal panels painted to vaguely look like wood. It is simple and probably pretty cheap, but cozy enough.A view from the bed of the space cabin. A TV is on the wall, showing a documentary of renowned 21st century nature photographer Jason Clarke, who's work also adorns the wallsThe doorway. It is simple and sci-fi, but also obviously 3D modeled and your artist doesn't like it very much. This whole project went on a multi-month creative block for awhile because I had no idea what to do with that $&#*ing doorThe sink, with a glass on it. The bed and TV are in the background, there's a mirror with some trendy lights behind it. The sink tap and glass materials came out far better than they had any right to. The sink is very clean, housekeeping did a great job with it

People who do not make art themselves and who do not study tend to view realism as the ultimate goal of an artist, the peak of their craft. So, it makes total sense that they would think they had cracked what van Gogh just didn't have the skill to achieve. Art education matters.

Artemis II's last test: Will its heat shield work?
Excess charring on Artemis I's heat shield had NASA racing to understand what went wrong—and to ensure the technology was still safe for the current crew's high-speed reentry.

The #Artemis II astronauts said they needed more superlatives to describe their view of the eclipse, when the Sun was behind the Moon and its near surface was faintly illuminated by Earthshine
Captured by the Artemis II crew during their lunar flyby on April 6, 2026, this image shows the Moon fully eclipsing the Sun. From the crew’s perspective, the Moon appears large enough to completely block the Sun, creating nearly 54 minutes of totality and extending the view far beyond what is possible from Earth. The corona forms a glowing halo around the dark lunar disk, revealing details of the Sun’s outer atmosphere typically hidden by its brightness. Also visible are stars, typically too faint to see when imaging the Moon, but with the Moon in darkness stars are readily imaged. This unique vantage point provides both a striking visual and a valuable opportunity for astronauts to document and describe the corona during humanity’s return to deep space. The faint glow of the nearside of the Moon is visible in this image, having been illuminated by light reflected off the Earth. [alt text from NASA]

More context on this #Artemis II image: * This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right * The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon: ☀️🌍🚀🌕
A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)
