Every time someone links to this film, I have to repost it. It's one of the most significant bits of British 20th century art. Everything about it is incredible. Groundbreaking music production by Daphne Oram. Amazing camera work by Wolfgang Suschitzky (who later filmed Get Carter).-

So this makes me think it's time to pick up a Hasselblad Polaroid back while they're still cheap, just in case 🤞 ...anything I should know about which one to look for? I don't really know my way around Polaroid peel apart film so I want to make sure I get one which will be compatible

Ahh brilliant look who my September postcard came from! They must have crossed over as they travelled the world 😊 Thank you Kim, this was a cheering little package to get in the post this morning ❤️ #PostcardsFromAfar
Postcard with an envelope, a note and a sticker, all laid out on a desk.

The postcard is a black and white photograph of a buggy on a stormy beach, with a surfboard attached to the roof.

Underneath is a handwritten note on lined paper, the start of which reads "G'Day Morag, A short note from Perth, Western Australia."

The stamp on the envelope has a photograph of a small black and white bird and reads "POSTAGE PAID AUSTRALIA"

The sticker is a drawing of an old Polaroid camera

My immediate thought - these things become immediately inaccessible to so many people (like me!) who can’t queue for indeterminate lengths of time I literally called Dishoom yesterday to make sure we can get a late dinner tonight without worrying about the queue www.theguardian.com/food/2026/se...
Screenshot of a paragraph of text from the linked article. The highlighted portion reads: "We spend so much time thinking about how best to reduce the bottlenecks and make it more efficient. And even though most people are happy to be social in the queue and chat, we hate that it makes the bakery less accessible to people who can't physically stand for 40 minutes. When we had the heatwaves this summer, we would get people fainting, which wasn't good."

Sigur Ròs with an orchestra in Glasgow last night 🥹✨✨ Yes this is the same gig we saw in London. Yes I went again and I REGRET NOTHING. Would happily watch this every 6 months or so until the heat death of the universe Excuse the potato quality photo, I only had my phone with me this time.
Very low res colour photograph taken at a concert, from an aisle seat in an upper level, with a good clear view of the stage.

On stage is an orchestra, with a small choir off to one side, all dressed in black. They are difficult to pick out, but the three members of the band Sigur Ròs can be seen in amongst the orchestra, just in front of the conductor. Jonsi is standing in the centre, singing into a microphone.

The stage is dramatically and brightly lit, with smoke effects. The orchestra are mostly lit by white lights, while there is purple behind the choir. Blue lighting can be seen on the stairs in front of me. The rest of the room is in deep black darkness.

Absolutely magical evening last night at Jupiter Artland, celebrating my recent Big Birthday. Dinner in the woods with my favourite humans ❤️ Jupiter Artland is bonkers in the best possible way - highly recommend their wild dining experience if you're looking for an event that's a bit different!
Photo taken in the garden behind the café at Jupiter Artland, a sculpture park near Edinburgh. A woman is taking a photo of a sculpture on the lawn called "Piss Flowers" by Helen Chadwick.

In the foreground are a few pastel pink metal cafe tables and chairs on a brick laid patio area, with an expanse of lush green lawn behind. Dotted about on the lawn are a set of white structures that vaguely resemble flowers, each about a foot high. Behind the lawn there is a small slope, with a high green hedge behind surrounding the garden. The woman is standing just in front of the hedge - she is wearing a flowing pink pleated maxi skirt that exactly matches the pink shade of the chairs, balancing out the whole image nicely.Interior of Cafe Party at Jupiter Artland, designed by artist Nicolas Party.

The whole space is an art piece in itself. The walls are painted a bright pink, with bold colourful alien looking plants and fungi painted on them. The photograph looks towards a gable end, where a colourful, modern painting hangs showing a man with three birds sitting on his head and shoulders. In the foreground is a low hanging pendant light like a floating white globe, and some cafe tables and chairs. The chairs are all black, and the tables have more decoration on them in the same style as the walls.Close up view of a plate of food on a section of rustic wooden table in an outdoor setting. There is artificial garland of artificial greenery laid along the middle of the long table, and another place setting opposite has a slide of wooden log as a placement.

The plate has barbecued lamb chops, roast potatoes, lots of salad, sweetcorn and some home grown roasted heritage carrots in shades of orange, yellow and purple.A wider view of the dinner table in the woodland, with a metal firepit in the foreground.

A few people are sitting at the long table chatting, under a sailcloth canopy. It is getting dark and the area is lit with a string of lights. Sheepskins have bee laid out on the benches and a couple of the women have blankets round their shoulders. Lots of plants in hanging baskets decorate the clearing, and the trees of the woodland can be seen in the background.

Important update 👀
Hasselblad 501CM camera sitting on an elaborate slatted wooden bench with decorative cast iron end pieces, inside a glasshouse. It has a pretty tan leather camera strap attached.

The camera is a relatively large vintage medium format film camera, the sort you look down into. It is black with chrome edging that gives it a slightly art deco vibe.

So this is wholesome! My #PostcardsFromAfar postcard from June went on a little adventure on the way to me It was correctly addressed and sent from Illinois - then somehow managed to find it's way to Belfast, where some kind soul popped it in an envelope and forwarded it on to me in Glasgow
Colour postcard showing a view of a clear blue river flowing through a mountain valley.

The postcard is sitting on top of an envelope with a Northern Ireland postmark and a UK first class stamp, addressed "FAO: Morag"

Next to it is a page from a telephone message notepad, with the handwritten message: "Received your card by mistake so just posting forward to you. Lovely photograph." then something illegible (maybe a name?) and "Cheers from Belfast"

Made a friend on my walk by the canal yesterday. Turns out his name is Ziggy and he has his own Instagram! Also he gives excellent cuddles www.instagram.com/glasgowcanal...
Selfie taken from a low angle with a cat. The whole thing is very reminiscent of the “vibing cat” meme

The photo is mostly clear blue sky and a little bit of greenery - then just peeking in at the bottom left corner you can see the head and shoulders of me and a cat, both looking down at the camera.

I am a middle aged white woman with brown hair and glasses, and I am wearing a green shirt, black top and old school white-wired Apple earbuds. My face is half obscured the cat in front of me.

The cat is a slightly scruffy but very cute looking black and white cat. His face is mostly white, with black across the top of his head and ears, and around his left eye. His eyes are half closed
