On the scale of altruism it’s far more performative than effective. 🙄

I think the real reason behind “pacing the frontier” is so AI companies collectively collude to get into the black by avoiding their most revenue burning activity: training. If they just slow down and sell us the same models, longer they’ll flip the “money pit” narrative pretty quickly.
