a) just don't kill people (one easy answer) b) if for some goddamn reason you're making this case, why aren't you making it for 'pistol to the back of the head' soviet style which is much more reliable than a firing squad?

people keep making movies where the premise is "it's kind of like a man but it looks like a monstrous freak but it's nice and sexy and doesn't abuse the woman so it's basically the most romantic thing ever" and men keep not getting it.

People seem confused by the last item on this list, so please allow me to post this traditional MAN EXCERPT of MAN-APPROVED LITERATURE by a MANLY AND MASCULINE MAN
“He lay there and felt something and then her hand holding him and searching lower and he helped with his hands and then lay back in the dark and did not think at all and only felt the weight and the strangeness inside and she said, “Now you can’t tell who is who can you?”

“No.”

“You are changing,” she said. “Oh you are. You are. Yes you are and you’re my girl Catherine. Will you change and be my girl and let me take you?”

“You’re Catherine.”

“No. I’m Peter. You’re my wonderful Catherine. You’re my beautiful lovely Catherine. You were so good to change. Oh thank you, Catherine, so much. Please understand. Please know and understand. I’m going to make love to you forever.”

-- "The Garden of Eden," where a lady convinces the protagonist to get the same haircut as hers and then trades genders with him (during a round of pegging) by MAN APPROVED MASCULINE AUTHOR ERNEST HEMINGWAY

BERLIN JEWISH GROUP
FOR A UNIFIED REICH
League of National German
Jews Urges Affirmative Vote in Plebiscite.
Wireless to THE NEW YORK TIMEs.
BERLIN, Aug. 17.-The League of National German Jews, a small Jewish organization in Berlin, issued today a summons to all German Jews to vote for Chancellor Hitler in the plebiscite Sunday. The league declared the Jews' suffering in Germany had been necessary in order to clear away the damage done by "un-German elements." The statement reads:
"We members of the League of National German Jews, founded in 1921, have always in war or peace placed the good of the German people and the German Fatherland above our own good. Accordingly, we greeted the
national uprising
of January,
1933,
although it
brought rigors for us, for we saw it as the only means to clear away the damage done in fourteen unhappy years by un-German ele ments.

To yes-and this: I also see people making immediate assumptions of malign intent from the press release author, without even knowing the outlet's source, and mainly doing so in reaction to learning the actual study had a trans author and was more complicated than that.

That said, I vehemently disagree with this post, particularly where university press offices (my original source) are concerned. It is ABSOLUTELY the author's fault if a university press office misrepresents their work. I've been teaching this for a decade in our NIH trainee bioethics courses.

Oh, that didn't take much digging. They asked people to solve stupid fraction problems. One group got to ask AI, the other group didn't. Then they took the AI away from the AI group. Those people started fucking off. The non-AI group didn't magically know it was time to start fucking off.
For the first experiment with 354 participants, one group was tasked with solving 15 basic fraction problems without help, while another had ChatGPT open on the side to use for assistance and to even ask for the answer. The group with AI access started off more accurate than the group without it. Then, after 12 problems, researchers took away the AI tool. Almost immediately, the people in that group stopped solving questions accurately.

A similar thing happened when they ran the experiment on a second, larger group of 667 participants. Whereas the AI users got answers wrong or gave up entirely when the AI assistance was withdrawn, the group without AI stuck with the task and were more successful at the end.

In our course and book _Calling Bullshit_, we posit that If something seems too good, or too bad, to be true, it probably is. Now as a college professor I'm pretty confident that overreliance can AI can harm our thinking ability, but just ten minutes of use? Let's dig into this this study a bit.
