It is, in fact, possible to impeach and remove President Trump from office next week. It won't happen, however, because Republicans also support Putin and Russia and agree with Trump.

ICE kidnapped a young man from his family in New Jersey. His young siblings shouted for help and clung to him; masked Nazi agents pushed them to the ground. They couldn’t stop the kidnapping. The youngest, a little girl, collapsed in distress. Repost if you hate ICE.

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social @chuckschumer.com UNDERSTAND the assignment. It is NOT to “look for common ground”. If we win it is NOT a “validation” of your leadership or DEM strength. It is a CHALLENGE to take down this authoritarian regime. Get on board or get out of the way & let others lead.

Also: if you've ever wondered why so many politicians & urban cosplayers who try to "appeal to rural areas" do it by dressing up in Wranglers and buying a Ford F-250? That IS, functionally, what a lot of "authentic rural culture" is at this point. Cosplay. So... are the cosplayers really wrong?

Quintessential Trump: In 2025, Trump axed the program to combat New World Screwworm, stating that they had "saved" $1.5 million a year. In 2026, the Trump announces a $1 billion emergency program to combat the Screwworm outbreak. $1 billion would have funded the old program for 667 years.

The SCOTUS has become so bold that they went from "This is the outcome we want, so we'll pretend/twist the law to fit the decision we want to get to" to "This is the outcome we want, so we're not even going to consider lower court rationale, apply the law, or pretend like laws matters for our side."

My general view on impeachment is that it is Constitutionally prescribed duty, not an option. A Congressperson who takes an oath to defend the Constitution and then treats impeaching a President who is a direct threat to the Constitution as optional is violating this oath.

I worked with federal judges for 36 years. A couple dozen of them, in total. Some were better; some left a lot to be desired. None were this pathetic. None. Not remotely. This shows an absence of the baseline independence and mettle one needs to be a decent judge (for life, no less).

Comic panel of Donald Duck and a wide-eyed young Mickey Mouse. Donald's speech bubble: "Democrats should do a huge middle class tax cut to address affordability." Mickey's speech bubble: "Fool that you are, for you treat taxation as a burden rather than the means by which our burdens are eased. Behold a civilization rich in private wealth yet starved of public provision, where every man owns what his grandfathers could not imagine and yet trembles at the thought of how he will weather an illness or loss of livelihood. Will you fight for an affirmative vision of broad contribution and universal benefit? Or will you perish like a dog?"
