This bird would not have been able to fly far after it was shot. It came down close to Combs Moss, a driven grouse moor owned by the Harris and Sheldon Ltd. Nothing to see here folks, no chance of a conviction, move along.

If these incidents were taken seriously one would expect the time between the incident and the request for information to be substantially less than two months. And if these places were properly regulated and they were charged for the privilege, then an effective enforcement body could be funded.
