This means less support for people with learning disabilities like my daughter. Part of responsible and ethical system management is gatekeeping so that the most vulnerable are able to access help. It just isn't grown up to say "help everyone with whatever they need," unless there's a plan to pay.

.at the moment the story appears to be if we meet the need early it won't escalate and in the end will be cheaper, allowing our systems to manage the increased demands. This is nice but we have to ask whether this is true. Do we have models where this has worked in the past? Anywhere?

It’s a lazy, lightweight depiction of the condition that doesn’t really represent either #autism or #adhd particularly well, and certainly doesn’t represent anyone profoundly affected by either disorder who has severe needs

Our experience of autism is that it robbed our son of speech, intellectual development and came packaged with epilepsy that regularly puts his life in jeopardy This picture suggests #autism means you’re clearly able to do your homework so long as someone stands with you and you have a popper handy
