All MPs' outside earnings by party: The Conservatives come out top at 66% of total earnings from second jobs, while Reform (with just eight MPs) account for 20%, and Labour (with 400+) just 7%. But taking into account their size, Reform has by far the highest outside earnings per MP of any party.
Table:

Party	MPs	Seat share	Earnings share	Index relative to party size (earnings ÷ seats)	Approx. avg. per MP
Reform UK	8	1.2%	20%	16×	£275,000
Conservative	117	18%	66%	3.7×	£62,000
Labour	403	62%	7%	0.1×	£1,900
Other parties*	122	18.8%	7%	0.4×	£6,300

sorry to be sentimental but this is the most amazing heartwarming story
Boy saves family with 2.5-mile swim in shark-infested waters

James Salmon Perth
A 13-year-old boy who swam for four
hours
through
shark-infested
Western
Australia's
waters to save
his
mother and two siblings after they were swept out to sea has been described as
"superhuman" by rescue services.
Austin Appelbee swam 25 miles to shore to raise the alarm after getting into
difficulties with his
mother,
Joanne, 47, brother Beau, 12, and sister
Grace,
8, police said. He then ran
1.2 miles to find help.
Paul Bresland, Naturaliste Volunteer
Marine Rescue commander, said that Austin's efforts were "superhuman".
The family were on holiday last week
Quindalup near Dunsborough.
coastal town about 150 miles south of Perth, where they live. Making the most of what appeared to be calm conditions, they paddled out into Geographe Bay

in the Indian Ocean on Friday morning on a kayak and inflatable paddleboards.
At about llam conditions became rougher. They lost their paddles and their kayak flipped over and started sinking as it filled with water. Austin's mother realised their best chance of survival was asking her elder son to swim for shore while she tried to keep her other children from drowning
"One of the hardest decisions I ever had to make was to say to Austin, "Try to get to shore and get some help, this could get really serious really quickly she told the broadcaster ABC. *I knew he was the strongest and he could do it." For the next few hours, she and her rounger children clung to their paddle boards. Austin set off on an inflatable kayak wearing a lifejacket. He abandoned the kayak after it took on water, and took off the lifejacket.
Austin said he tried to focus on positive thoughts as he swam through rough seas. "The waves are massive and

A quick reminder of what #BigFebruary is about… Thanks to the magic of the cosmos, we start gaining daylight much faster in Feb than in Jan. Over 20 mins a week - setting us up for Spring. This chart is by @neilrkaye.bsky.social and is one of my all time favourites.
Chart by Neil Kaye showing the lengthening and shortening of daylight hours in southern Britain each week through the year. Each bar represents how much daylight is gained or lost each week.
The line is roughly a sine curve (head blown emoji), with the fastest daylight gains in Feb, March and April, and the fastest losses in Aug, Sep and October.

In Sept. of 2023, I witnessed what was in my eyes the perfect storm. This intricately-structured, highly-electric supercell danced under a sky full of stars, looming over the landscape like the Mind Flayer while producing multiple funnels, bursts of sprites, and a barrage of lightning. #Photography
A photo of a dramatic supercell thunderstorm with a many-layered, rotating structure that is illuminated by multiple bright lightning strikes. The foreground includes a rural landscape with a dirt road, fence, and green trees/grass. Beside the storm is a crisp, clear night sky with stars shining.
