ADHD is a significant disability and people with it benefit greatly from treatment (not always medication, but, yes, including medication). ADHD is not laziness, is not moral failure, and is not “minor”.

Foxes In Love @foxes-in-love.bsky.social · 29/06/2026
A comic of two foxes, one of whom is blue, the other is green. In this one, Blue and Green are on a walk, watching a mother duck pass by with three little ducklings trailing behind her in a row.
Green: I like the part of summer when the babies come out. Suddenly the world is full of new little wild creatures just learning everything!

Going on, Green looks ahead as Blue glances behind them.
Green: Ducklings, baby squirrels, fawn, little seagulls...
Blue: Cyclists.
Green: Sure.

Blue watches in shock as a cyclist passes by with three little cyclists trailing behind her in a row, breezing by with such speed that they launch unprepared Green flying into the air.

A comic of two foxes, one of whom is blue, the other is green. In this one, Blue is enjoying the breeze in front of a fan, while Green sits some distance away from him, with his back towards Blue, clearly sulking.

Blue looks at Green as Green turns to look at him, still with a grumpy look on his face.
Green: I'm sorry I've been awful all day. This heat makes me miserable to be around.

Blue looks frankly at Green, who appears mildly surprised.
Blue: You haven't done or said anything.
Green: Oh?

Green turns back around, looking tired and frustrated but no longer angry.
Green: I've been thinking evil thoughts all day.

Another terrible AI-generated image of the gynaecological anatomy. It must be a day ending in a Y. Let's take a closer look at this wholly cursed illustration of a menstrual cup via @pzmyers.bsky.social
An awful, no-good AI illustration of the position of a menstrual cup. The cup is full of something that looks like strawberry milkshake and positioned firmly inside the body cavity with its stem poking out, It is labelled uterus (endometrium). Another arrow says menstrual cup (silicone, sealed). Above the menstrual cup floats something pink that looks rather like a brain with a screw hole in it. There is a bladder-shaped part beneath it which the stem is poked through labelled "vaginal rugae". The stem of the cup is once again labelled menstrual cup (silicone, sealed). Beneath the bladder-ish thing is a tube rather like the vagina labelled pubic symphysis, then bladder, then sacrum. It is painfully anatomically incorrect and it was really hard to write this ID.

Taking notes is such an underrated fidget. It helps with focus, yes, but it also can help us process information, remember things, and make connections to other information. And it works even if we never look at our notes again. Even if we can't read them. Even if the notes "don't make sense"

Habits are triggered by environmental cues, either internal or external. Willpower, especially for ADHD'ers, isn't a sustainable cue! To give our habits the best chance to stick, we need to use cues that are consistent, sustainable, and relevant to us or we don't stand a chance

A major accommodation that autistic and ADHD people can give themselves is reducing the number of decisions we need to make. This could look like is automating decisions, relying on random chance, or drafting standard operating procedures for ourselves, such routines or checklists

Tumblr user nocryptographer:
I talked with someone who works in book publishing, and they mentioned they get a lot of AI slop these days. I asked how they know what's human-written, and they said that there's one thing that will reveal AI slop without error, and that's the author not knowing their own creation.
A real author can talk about their story for hours. They love to elaborate every character, every twist, every detail. Because those existed in their head long before they ever made it to the paper. They were loved before they were written.
AI slop wasn't. It was just vomited into existence.
Someone who generates their story with AI will never bond with their story the way real writers do. That's why they may not know what to say when they're asked why did the character do this, or even remember the scene in the first place. It's something they read, not something they wrote. And to a writer, those are not the same.
There's a unique bond between the creator and the creation. If your writing doesn't come of you, you'll always lack that.
I keep hearing soon we won't be able to tell. And perhaps, in a superficial sense, that's true. But there is a difference. It's not em dashes or repeated words. It's whether the story was made by someone who loves it and cares about it.
If the writer's eyes light up when asked why did the character do that? and they start their very own Ted Talk about that specific scene...
then it's real.

For the sake of clarity, if you see someone listing a number of diagnoses and think huh that’s quite a lot, can I interest you in the word “comorbid” — many disorders impact others, and currently we diagnose them separately though we’re starting to recognise they’re all highly linked

Supporting neurodivergent communities means taking our accommodations seriously, even if you don't understand them. By all means, it's okay to learn more and try to understand, but your understanding and comfort isn't necessary for making my world more accessible to me

Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays: Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink. If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business. Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

For autistic folks, it can look like being consumed by wholehearted, embodied enjoyable sensory experiences. It could be zen-like repetition of actions or routines. It could be deep, wide-eyed engagement with treasured interests or activities, including reading, creating, archiving, or researching

Neurodivergent joy looks different for different people and different neurotypes. For ADHD'ers, it could look like passionate idea creation or problem solving, or it could look like excitedly flitting from one activity to the next. It could look like eager spontaneity or zealous hyperfocus

"In the real world no one will accommodate you" is trauma talking. It's true that people aren't falling over themselves to help me but my adult life is way more accommodating than my childhood was, because adults get to make choices. I'm accommodating myself.
