A LOT of people came up to me at DragonCon this weekend and thought I'd left the TTRPG industry, which was kind of ...I dunno. Frustrating? I didn't, or at least I didn't mean to. I wrote a book and went on a national tour. I just stopped having time to troll blue sky and discord for casting calls.

Rejection sensitivity will fuck up your sex life. One "not tonight" sent you spiraling for days. A delayed text after sex meant they *definitely* regretted it. If rejection sensitivity is making intimacy feel like emotional Russian roulette, you need tools to manage the overwhelm.

My understanding of intimacy shifted when I realized I was using sex to regulate my nervous systems. Sex for connection, sex for sensation, sex for a nervous system reset. All valid, all normal, all totally okay. But if you're more dysregulated than when you started, we need to talk strategy! 🧵

For this book, I wrote an essay about "How to GM Romance" when you're asexual - because I'm asexual and find it frustrating to live in a world where sex and romance are an assumed and “necessary” part of any meaningful relationship. I'm SO happy you can all read this now. 🫶

Within the asexual spectrum,
attitudes toward sex vary
significantly. This is not just
about sexual attraction, but
also how individuals feel about
the act of sex itself, which you
might not ever need to deal
with at the gaming table. It’s
helpful to understand, though,
especially when creating
specific boundaries or lines
and veils. Here are a few ways
people on the ace spectrum
might relate to the concept of
sex:

It’s possible for an asexual
person to be deeply headover-heels in love. It’s also just
as possible for an asexual
individual to have absolutely
no interest in romance or sex,
but have deeply intimate
lifelong platonic friendships
that might even look romantic
on the surface.
