A detail I initially missed, minor compared to everything else, but I found it interesting: One of the effects of the US issuing sanctions against the ICC was "the video platform YouTube removed more than 700 videos documenting evidence of possible war crimes." pixelunion.eu/blog/2026/10...

You know, on mastodon we have the ability to highlight the "important part" of an image so the cropper makes sure to include it instead of just guessing. We've had this feature longer than bluesky exists. Social media doesn't have to be bad. You can design it in a way it is kind of good

Tragically, we see incidents where people survive major storms but are killed by carbon monoxide from portable generators. Never run your generator indoors. Run generators outdoors at least 20ft away from your home.

Hello Bone Colleagues,
I have invented a new type of ankle and I'm very excited to show it to you. Early raccoon trials suggest a 60% increase in scurrying speed and dramatic increases in fine motor banditry. I know we are not supposed to create super raccoons, but I think you'll change your mind and professional ethics when you see how cute they are. I believe we are on the cusp of a new era in advanced human scurrying because if medical science has taught me anything, it's that improvements in raccoons correspond 1:1 to improvements in humans.

A microcosm - America tells you a lie. - The Republicans suddenly come forward with an even worse, more dangerous, but embarrassing & goofy, new lie - The Democrats hold a proud, patriotic press conference saying that they are going to give you the old, dignified lie back - But it's still a lie.

A comic of two foxes, one of whom is blue, the other is green. In this one, Green approaches Blue, who is nestled comfortably within a large purple bean bag chair.
Green: How's the bean bag chair?
Blue: Comfy.

Blue watches in silent horror as Green jumps into the air, about to dive into the chair as well.
Green: Make way!

As Green dives in, Blue is launched into the air by the force of Green's landing.

Now cozied up in the bean bag chair, Green watches as Blue flies off in the distance, barely visible as a shred of colour on the sky.

We Have Enough Dead Friends
by Lena Oleanderson

Come over. The doors are open,
my flat’s a mess and
so is my heart
but the doors are always open.
Come over. I will make soup,
probably from frozen but
the important thing is
we will both eat.

You don’t have to be dying,
but if you are,
or you feel like you are,
or if living’s been hard,
call me, and I will show up.
It doesn’t have to be that bad,
it doesn’t have to be bad at all,
but if it is, please call.

Do you want me to do the groceries?
Do you want me to mop the floors?
Do you need to be held;
you don’t have to be dying to be held.
If you want me to be there, I want to.

I’m on the bathroom floor again,
and breathing is hard,
and eating’s been hard, and sleeping,
the world is a laden thing
rolling around on my chest lately.
Just being alive is heavy tonight,
but we have enough dead friends.
Come over.
