High-stepping Wilson's Snipe! #birds
A fancy brown and white streaky bird with yellow legs and a very very long straight beak is strutting across some matted reeds at the edge of a lake. There are some cattails in the background. The bird looks totally confident and is striding with purpose.

not surprising i guess, people are already getting mad that in "Quaint Folk" there's a sexually attractive fat character, but here's the thing: if they can make you feel bad for being horny, they can control you. don't let hem

Okay, George Lucas remains a schmuck but his wife is pure class. She made him make the museum souvenirs and food cheap so that schoolchildren without much money can still have a good day, because she says she remembers how bad it felt to go on expensive field trips. It DOES.

Catholic here, loving Leo so far. Also want to throw in this: Source: Daniel Mitsui, artist who does a mix of secular and Catholic sacred art, who is also a consistent AI hater to no one's surprise. www.danielmitsui.com/00_pages/no_...
Text in the image: "according to legend, Albertus Magnus had spent thirty years devising an oracular head, a mechanical device that could answer questions posed to it. Thomas Aquinas smashed it to pieces. Different versions of the story say that this was out of annoyance, or of fright; I prefer to think that St. Thomas had prophetic insight into the evils such device could and would cause. While I generally avoid putting my religious drawings on everyday merchandise, I thought that this small scene was timely and appropriate and humorous enough to make an exception." There is a drawing of two men inside a medieval monasterty. One of them is St. Thomas Aquinas, and he is poised to swing a large club at a bust on a pedestal, which presumably is Albert the Great's 'oracular head'. The other is Albert, and he is running toward Thomas with a look of shock on his face, hands out to stop him. There is also text that says "KILL YOUR CHATBOT" and a header that says "artwork by Daniel Mitsui, www.danielmitsui.com"

The Buffalo Bills - singlehandedly healing international rifts.
Buffalo,
we could hear you singing from here.
At your home opener, many of you stood up and sang O Canada. What a moment.
Us Canadians sang along, from the stadium, in sports bars, and on couches across the country.
Then you put it on billboards across Southern Ontario. We're still singing it, you said. We be lieved you.
Well, we want to return the feeling.
On Saturday, October 3rd, the sky over Niagara Falls will go red, white and blue in Buffalo Bills colours.
You're invited. Come across the bridge, find a spot along the river and soak it all in. We'll be right there with you.
We've shared this river a long time. We share the view, the mist, a lot of family, and even more Bills games. Thanks for being a neighbour.

The cover of Bear, by Marian Engel. The white cover features a painting of a topless woman in a flowing red skirt with her long hair just barely covering her nipples, leaning back into the embrace of a large brown bear. It also has the blurbs:

Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.
From DISCVR blog's Facebook page, a momma bear & a yearling cub on her back in the shallow water. I think the background has been swapped out, and I can't rule out some AI use there? God, Facebook has become the social media for AI slop : (

The title of the article, which I link below, is "How Bear 89 earned the name Backpack"

Calling any crochet peeps, I’m new to crochet and I can’t find a clear answer on Google 😭 Can someone pls explain what the “Rnd 10” means when it says to work in the flp (that’s front loop only) of rnd 7? Like do I just randomly grab the front loops from round 7 as I go? Helpppp
Crochet pattern reads:

Rnd 9: With C2, ch 1, [sc in next 2 sts, inc, sc in next 2 sts] 3 times - 18 sts.
Rnd 10: Ch 1, working in flp of Rnd 7, [sc in next st, inc, sc in next st] 6 times;
join - 24 sts.
Rnd 11: Ch 1, [sc in next 3 sts, inc] 6 times; join - 30 sts.
