What we need is an AI agent that just periodically whispers "you, too, sire, will someday pass forgotten from this earth" into its user's ear.

Amazing that a minor plot point in The Pitt which was criticised as being too on the nose about AI turned out to actually happen Almost as if AI can be exactly as bad as imagined

You fuckers made me do it. The Racist Academicals Patter Song.
[RACIST ACADEMICAL]
I am the very model of a racist academical,
With footnotes and citations to make bigotry seem credible,

I traffic in ideas that have long since been discredited,
Like human races being real and IQ is inherited!

I’ll sign an open letter that legitimates my bigotry,
My gender ideology is thuggery and piggery,

If criticized it’s academic freedom I will hide behind,
My high and mighty principles shan’t be questioned by your tiny mind!

[CHORUS OF CHUDS]
His high and mighty principles shan’t be questioned by your tiny mind!

Today is the 90th anniversary of the execution of Roger Casement What is less well known about Casement is that he was an occasional poet. Sharing, not because it's a great poem, but to acknowlede the colonial strategy of language erasure Treasure language, every voice #poetry #poemoftheday

The idea of Vote Left, Transfer Left was pretty strongly adhered to in Dublin Central as the count went on. What happened was that the voters didn’t consider SF to be left. The SF candidates big transfer moments came from Steenson and Hutch.

Calvin’s dad voice: The two types of philosophy are mysticism and lists. All philosophy falls into one of these two categories. Plato? Mysticism. Aristotle? Lists. Confucius? Lists. Zhuangzi? Mysticism. Despite constantly talking about true essences and infinite attributes, Spinoza is lists.

The divide between historians of Ireland and the Irish public is pretty significant, I find. To the point that I would find people getting viscerally angry whenever I mentioned fairly uncontroversial things in the field.

1. Britain has very much *NOT* always tolerated minority faiths. Just ask Jews and Catholics. 2. The idea that religious expression should be "in conformity with our values, our norms, our beliefs" should worry every faith group, starting with Christians.
