Was that the same security services you dumped to visit ‘ex’ KGB colonel Alexander Lebedev and party in Umbria just after the Novichok Salisbury attack? Or the same security services whose advice you defied to put his son Evgeny in the House of Lords? Those security services?

Astonishing to hear people say they'd rather asylum seekers drowned than be saved by the RNLI. Next comes letting people die in burning hostels rather than be saved by the fire brigade and letting people get kicked to death in the street rather than be saved by the Police. Don't platform this hate.

The next PM could - and in my view should - properly stick it to Trump (as Meloni has just done); announce a plan to undo Brexit; put immigration to bed for at least one electoral cycle; take their government off Twitter; unequivocally condemn Netanyahu & resurrect Leveson 2… A boy can dream.

80% of Reform's funding comes from people who avoid tax by hiding money offshore. Our idea of true patriotism is to hoard money while contributing nothing towards public services. Just ask Richard Tice.

Here’s a short poem about the power of poetry to change the world.
The Power of Poetry

with things falling apart
and anarchy let loose,

it was only poetry, he found,
which had any use,

so he reached for his copy
of The Complete Works of Yeats

and bludgeoned the President
of the United States

my great-grandparents arrived in the UK in the 1890s with nothing. they sold pickles from the front room window, took in laundry, worked as tailors. their children were nurses, teachers, salesmen. their grandchildren were professors, designers, opticians, doctors, magistrates, entrepreneurs.

Another week. Another ‘crackdown’ on immigration. Because Brexit exploded it. It created labour shortages and ended our shared EU arrangements. Then all the far right uglies went to town whipping up anti-immigrant sentiment for power. Until govts are honest about this, they will continue to fail.

Happy 99th birthday to the man who gave voice to the wild. 🎉 Sir David Attenborough, thank you for a lifetime dedicated to the natural world, and for sharing its story with wisdom, wonder, and grace. You've inspired generations to fall in love with nature.
This photograph captures Sir David Attenborough seated outdoors on the rugged terrain of Skomer Island. Behind him, the ocean and coastal cliffs form a scenic backdrop under a clear sky. Sir David, dressed in a khaki jacket and light trousers, looks towards the camera with a gentle expression, exuding a sense of warmth, calm, and wisdom. Around him, puffins can be seen flying and perched on the rocky ground, illuminated in rays of golden sunlight as the sun sets behind the cliffs.

On the eve of the #localelections thank you @privateeyenews.bsky.social for absolutely nailing the weapons-grade, rock-solid, brain-melting idiocy of voting for Farage and Reform…
Reform projected to do brilliantly in mayoral contests

IN SHOCKING news many of the people who thought their lives would get better after Brexit are going to be voting for a party led by the man who told them Brexit would solve all Britain's problems.

"It just makes sense,” said one
voter, whose personal income had been hammered by a drop-off of trade with Europe, by the government having less money to spend and by an overall lack of economic growth.

"This guy tells it like it is - he blames someone else and denies all responsibility. We should be punishing the government for not making my life better - and to do
that, I'll be voting for someone who has made my life worse."

Many thousands of others have decided that they will make a vote to protest against the mainstream, and, in order to register their disapproval, they will vote for a man who's been a professional politician for several decades and earned millions of pounds off the back of it.

"This is the way to show those mainstream politicians what's what," said one voter, casting a ballot for arguably the most influential British politician of the last three decades. "This will turn everything round."

There's a famous Japanese proverb that says, "if you find yourself on the wrong train, get off at the next station." It doesn't matter if you have to pay a high cost for a new ticket.
It doesn't matter if you're embarrassed to have made a mistake. Every price you pay to fix the situation is worth not going the wrong way, and starting to go the right way. Not having the courage to get off means going to the wrong destination. This, of course, isn't about trains. It's about life.

Phil Heckles has been drawing other people's pets since 2020, when he drew his own dog and posted it, jokingly offering paid-for commissions. Genuine requests flooded in. He used the traction to raise money for his local homeless charity. 5 years and over £400,000 later, he's still going. 14/10 ❤️
a split image showcasing a brown and black Dachshund on his hind legs on the left, and a wonky portrait of the same pup on the right. the skillfully drawn portrait illustrates the wavy silhouette of the weiner dog in a very literal interpretation of the photo. Another split image of a dachshund, this time one with a brindled coat and a silly expression. The photo on the left shows the pup in real life, while the portrait on the right again illustrates the artist's interpretation of the image. Both are quite hilarious. an action photo of a brown, black and white dog in a lush backyard jumping up to catch a red frisbee in its mouth. on the right, an artist has drawn the same photo with some warped qualities. Both of the dogs eyes are on the same side of its face while it’s legs have been given some curvaceous qualities. A small white dog with a goofy expression, sits on a blue and purple bed and looks up at the camera with its tongue slightly out. The drawing on the right is of the same dog with honestly a pretty accurate interpretation
