Scientists and journalists need to figure out right quick how to explain to the average person how a massive change in research indirects will impact the medical care they and their children get (eg at the local children’s hospital), the education their children will get, the price of tuition, etc.

Y'all masking? It helps so much to not be alone. I've been masking since the beginning of covid. It helps keep me, someone with health issues, safer. It helps keep others around me safer. It is a sign of empathy and compassion for others and ourselves, and awareness of the harm COVID can cause.

Y'all still masking? With 4+ years of long COVID, I've been sick more times the past 4 years than I have from 2014-2019 (probably longer since I rarely got sick pre-2020). The times I've been sick since 2020, it's been people that stopped masking that I unfortunately can't avoid.

Y’all masking? Every time. I have long COVID and it devastated me. I was disabled before, but nothing prepared me for the way long COVID and the resulting diseases stole everything from me. I spend what little energy I have trying to keep people from getting it. And yet, they fight prevention.
