If the lessons Democrats (& democrats) draw from DOGE is “right idea, wrong implementation,” we are doomed. Everyone involved in the unprecedented crime that was DOGE needs to go to jail forever, & Democrats need to rebuild all of the programs & agencies first, not do digital management consulting 🤦‍♂️

Yes yes absolutely yes. The men who went ashore at Normandy weren’t exceptional individually: They succeeded because they (and the people who led, supplied, supported, and planned for them) knew how to work together, watch out for each other, and depend on each other. That’s how it works.

We're seven months into losing a war that costs $100 million/day in military outlays and raised the price of gas $1.5/gallon. All we have to show for it is more radical Iranian leadership and a blown up school. "Just warriors" isn't working, bring all those other people back and put them in charge.

This is of course Economics 101, that making it easier to change laborers increases competition and therefore efficiency. After freshman-level economics, though, it’s clear the world isn’t all simple supply-demand curves, and that professors that you WANT are going to go where tenure is offered.

When they get back in power, Democrats need to go all-in on higher education. We need a campaign of reinvestment in public universities across the country that makes the Morrill Land-Grant Act look like nothing by comparison *and* a GI Bill of Rights-style program of tuition grants.
