At a Truth and Reconciliation day event a driver struck and killed two Elders and police released the killer the same day claiming it was a "medical emergency" that caused it. Witnesses are telling a different story indigenousinsider.substack.com/p/this-was-n...

“This Was Not a Medical Emergency”: Witnesses Reject the Police Account of the Crash That Killed Two Tsawwassen Elders
A week after Truth and Reconciliation Day, there are no charges and no name. The people who were standing there say the driver meant to do it, and they want police to prove he didn’t.

It's not just Andrews: 45 of the SC legislature's 47 Dems have an anti-trans voting record. - 11 voted for a sports ban (9 abstained) - 19 voted for a bathroom ban (6 abs.) - 30 voted for a prison GAC ban (14 abs.) - 3 voted for a youth GAC ban (6 abs.) South Carolina Dems have ALL abandoned us.

The problem is that AI is a content generator, so people who don't use it can't produce the case and content against it as fast as those who do who are in favor of its use, creating an ouroboros of self-assured AI users and developers.

a little louder for the cheap seats in the back
One of the biggest myths is that men rape by mistake. Like, "Oh, they need consent training." But research is very clear: Sexual violence is not a mistake. It is an intentionally made decision by people who know they don't have consent. They just don't prioritize consent over things like status, power, domination, and sexual gratification.
For my research, I got a certificate of confidentiality from the National Institutes of Health, so my notes couldn't be subpoenaed. One of the reasons I call them perpetrators in my work is because every single person I interviewed confessed in that context. The first question I would ask them was, "When you received that email from Title IX that you were under investigation, did you know what it was about?" Every perpetrator I interviewed said "yes." If sexual assault were a miscommunication, you would be wondering, What have I possibly done wrong? That is not the way that any of them reacted because they knew.

Decided to test this for myself and Pangram told me with "high confidence"(!!!!) that sentences of a fic I wrote in literally 2018 were AI-generated
A pangram screenshot. The actual text is: To Victoria’s surprise, Alex is the first to voice his support. “Fuck it. Let’s do it,” he shrugs, standing up and striding over to the front door. Victoria raises a skeptical brow at him, but swiftly turns her gaze to the rest of the group, awaiting their responses.
“If it’s going to… for lack of a better term, eat us, no matter what… then it might be easier, psychologically speaking, to speed up the inevitable,” PupDOS agrees; and then suddenly, she smiles. Not polite, not humouring, but genuine, almost… relieved. Sazley sees the smile, and barely conceals a frown, but no one else seems to take notice. “I’m in,” PupDOS says, and she is surer than she’s been about anything of late.
Sazley is quick to follow, breaking out into an awkward grin to suppress her nerves. “I, uh, I guess this is our best shot,” she says.
Sabrina and Rebecca exchange worried glances, neither one completely confident about this plan. Both of them sit for a second, just processing the possible pros and cons of going along with Victoria’s idea. Finally, Sabrina reaches her hand over until it is resting overtop of Rebecca’s, and she leans over and whispers something in her girlfriend’s ear. Rebecca smiles a little, and then she nods.

18% of it is highlighted as AI by pangram with "high confidence": Only two spans are highlighted as AI: the end of the Sazley paragraph, "I, uh, I guess this is our best shot," she says, and the first two sentences of the next paragraph: "Sabrina and Rebecca exchange worried glances, neither one completely confident about this plan. Both of them sit for a second, just processing the possible pros and cons of going along with Victoria's idea."

from 2001. no one’s doing product testimonials like this anymore. t.co/PEswCtbEZz
Toyota's unease at being associated with the Taliban and Al Qaeda is evident. In its September statement, the company said,
'Toyota does not have a sales or distribution channel in Afghanistan, and we do not export vehicles to that country."
Somewhat less laconic was Wade Hoyt, Toyota's spokesman in New York, who put the best corporate spin on the situation this week.
"It is not our proudest product placement," he said. "But it shows that the Taliban are looking for the same qualities as any truck buyer: durability and reliability."

I played The Witness for almost 20 hours, couldn't figure out a puzzle, and left it for literally two years. One day my video card died, and I pulled out one of my old cards (a GeForce 560) to use for awhile. I wondered what games I could actually play on it. Pulled out The Witness. Finished it.

As for the conspiratorial claim of fraud, this glut of people who are supposedly not using their insurance is either to benefit insurance companies (???) or, more likely, a leftist conspiracy to fill the pay pool with strawpeople to keep the cost of insurance down. --

ICE abducted a WBB player while she was traveling with her Kentucky State team in early August at Louisville airport. She has been imprisoned for 1.5 months and denied care for a serious ACL injury. It is the responsibility of universities and the NCAA to protect their players. They have failed.
Aminata Seck, 26, a student-athlete at Kentucky State University, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport while traveling with her school's basketball team Aug. 7, said Sadiqa Reynolds, a lawyer helping coordinate Seck's case.

Seck's team was headed to New York for a tournament, and she was taken into custody after going through airport security, said Reynolds, former president and CEO of the Louisville Urban League.

If you are the kind of person who will vote blue no matter who, then you are the kind of person who DOESN'T need to be coddled because THOSE are the votes that are guaranteed. And the kind of person who is like that is also the kind of person who most likely doesn't get the lgbtq thing.
