Due to hard drive issues, I'm having to put all my CDs back up on iTunes. On the priority list are Braid, Fugazi, Jawbreaker, Elliott's False Cathedrals, Jawbox's Novelty, Hot Water Music's Exister, Slint's Spiderland, Sugar's Copper Blue, MBV's EPs 1988-1991. Everyone else can wait.

Humaning.
A four-panel comic. In panel 1, a Northern Cardinal and American Goldfinch perch above a busy crowd in a city, looking down. The cardinal says "It's a nice day to go humaning." The goldfinch says "Just look at them. Majestic." In panel 2, a close-up of the two birds. The cardinal says "Nobody tells you that you'll reach a certain age and suddenly get into humaning. I hit 3 years old, and then bam."The birds are looking out over the crowd scene. In panel 3, the cardinal says "Their calls sound funny to us, but each one has a unique meaning." Below, people are saying various things: "I'm tired." "Where's my phone?" "I'd murder a burrito." In panel 4, the birds look down excitedly at a man walking by. The cardinal says "Wait, is that a guy who got dressed in the dark and put his shirt on inside out and backwards?" And the goldfinch exclaims, "Holy... that's a lifer!"

"Your brains stop developing at age 25" was a press misrepresentation of a study. They wanted to see if brains continued to develop after adolescence, so the study was capped at age 25. A later study with a wider subject pool showed that brains are ALWAYS developing our whole lives.

May I remind everyone that there is currently NO cure for rabies. May I also remind everyone there is absolutely NO scientific proof connecting ANY vaccine that we produce today with autism. This is true regarding vaccination in both humans AND in dogs. Vaccinate your pets please.
Worries about vaccination rates in dogs
As rabies seems to be spreading more in wildlife, veterinarians are especially worried about vaccine hesitancy spreading among pet owners, a dangerous trend that could lead to more dogs - and their owners
- becoming infected. A 2023 study published in the journal Vaccine found in nationally representative
sample of Americans that nearly 40% believed canine vaccines were unsafe and 37% believed that vaccines could lead their dogs to develop cognitive issues, such as autism.

They were releasing graphics like this showing how bin Laden had built a Cobra Commander base into the Hindu Kush
Detailed graphic showing a "Bin Laden's mountain fortress" a several story behemoth built into the mountainside that looks like what would happen if you gave someone acid and then asked them to draw a beehive and then halfway through told them you want a castle instead. There is a side graphic showing booby traps and water systems also inside the mountain. A remarkable artistic display, if not an architectural one.

Units of measurement? More like units of BETRAYAL qwantz.com/index.php?co...
T-Rex: In this crazy mixed-up world, at least one thing's for certain: a horse produces one (1) horsepower!
T-Rex: *satisfied sigh*

T-Rex: Because otherwise the measurement would be INSANE!T-Rex: Can you even imagine living in a world where horses DON'T produce one horsepower, Dromiceiomimus?
Dromiceiomimus: I simply can't! You ask the impossible - I'd sooner imagine a new colour!
T-Rex: I'D sooner imagine what sound tastes like than imagine life in a world where one horse doesn't produce one horsepower!!Utahraptor: Er, T-Rex...
T-Rex: No. NO.
T-Rex: Utahraptor, no!!

Utahraptor: The average horse can output over 14 horsepower in bursts -
T-Rex: Okay, but that's only over a short time, so -
Utahraptor: - and they can sustain over SEVEN horsepower across longer periods.
T-Rex: NO! NOOOOO!
T-Rex: God? Is it okay if I let this fact drive me crazy?
God: HONESTLY DUDE IT'S BEEN DRIVING ME UP THE WALL TOO
God: IT'S LIKE
God: I GAVE Y'ALL FREE WILL AS A SPECIAL TREAT AND THIS IS WHAT YOU DO WITH IT

T-Rex: Happy Monday, everyone! Or should I say...

T-Rex: ...happy MOONday?T-Rex: The day IS named after the moon, and I FERVENTLY BELIEVE that the world would be a better place if we went back to the namesakes, instead of our CORRUPTED versions. Instead of Tuesday: Tīw's Day, the day of the Norse god of one-on-one combat during battles! AWESOME.
T-Rex: Can't wait for THAT.T-Rex: And instead of Wednesday, Woden's Day - celebrating ODIN!
Utahraptor: A.K.A. Woden.
T-Rex: A.K.A. Woden!

T-Rex: Thursday is Thor's Day, Friday is Frigg's Day - FRIG, she rules - Saturday is Saturn's Day, and Sunday is Sun's Day, but we will now REALLY hit that "'s" so it's clear when we say it.
Utahraptor: And you think the world will improve?
T-Rex: Absolutely!Narrator: AND THUS:
Off panel: Thank God it's Friday!
T-Rex: As for me, I'LL be thanking ODIN it's FRIGG'S DAY!
Off panel: I didn't know that was allowed.
Off panel: ...Why I am suddenly mourning all the years I wasted not knowing that was allowed??

that's right, Bruce Campbell www.mensjournal.com/entertainmen...
When asked how it’s been for him to see the series transform since its indie beginnings way back in 1981 with director Sam Raimi, Campbell revealed his one issue with the recent installments.

“I’d like more humor back in. The three features have been mostly humorless, and I personally have a problem with that,” he said, echoing a sentiment shared among some of the franchise’s fans. “There’s no point for these to get too grim. You can be scary without being grim.”

“A little more humor wouldn’t kill you,” he added. “And one hero that you really can root for. Ash is an idiot, but you want him to survive.”

“Modern filmmakers love to color their movies like a David Fincher movie, like a hospital room, you know?” Campbell continued. “Gray-green, like a garage. Garage lighting. And so, okay, it’s a choice. It’s not mine. I think even a horror movie can look pretty. Why not throw them off? Make it all look pretty and wonderful, and then let them have it.”

I have reached the point where I yearn for the authentic marketing speak of the pre-AI era
Created by PSOne and creatively led by BBH USA, the brand’s new campaign reclaims Folgers’ authority around “waking up”, not just as a daily ritual, but as a mindset and a cultural movement, through a bold musical reinvention of its most famous asset. The work transforms the brand’s iconic jingle into a cross-generational remix that bridges heritage and contemporary relevance.

The new spot directed by the award-winning Calmatic is anchored by a custom-composed musical medley that reasserts the brand’s place in today’s cultural conversation. It seamlessly blends the jingle along with seven iconic “wake up” songs, spanning genres and decades, into a single, cohesive track.

From the soul of I Say a Little Prayer and the rock of Bring Me To Life to the nostalgia of Wake Up Little Susie and the rhythm of 1st of Tha Month, the medley weaves these classics together with the legendary Folgers jingle. This isn’t just a mashup; it’s a re-composition that aligns tempo, key, and tone to create a modern, ownable musical moment.
