a photo of art for a single called "Eject" with tagline "Fuck ed Sheeran" against a backdrop of Admiral Ackbar in front of a flaming Death Star. next to this IG post is a comment thread in which @alonestarsheeran says: " alonestarsheeran's profile picture

Reading books doesn’t necessarily make you a smarter or better person. Sometimes it can do the opposite; it really depends on the books. Loads of very bad books get published every year by all sorts of publishers - printed, bound, marketed & sold just the same as good ones.

Much like in the US, many of these organizations that “seek to restrict or roll back human rights protections” are operating as registered charities. One of the report’s recommendations is for a review of awarding charitable status to such organizations.

A finding that seems to me somewhat unique to the UK is that “gender critical” organizations only account for 2.5% of total expenditure—which has risen almost 50% since last year’s report—yet have been “remarkably successful in realising their agenda through strategic litigation and campaigning.”

Amnesty attributes the rise of the term “gender ideology” to two far-right conferences in the mid 1990s. The phrase was coined to explain the growing influence of gender equality agendas and to mobilize opposition to them.

about the wildfires: water quality can suffer for *years* after wildfires, since ash and contaminants that get left on the surface after a fire can be swept into waterways after big rains or snowmelts. droughts can extend this. spending on water infrastructure not keeping pace with climate crisis
