I fell behind on my reading goal this year so I started reading Animorphs books to juice the numbers because my brain is broken (they are like 175 pages long). The reading level feels kinda low for a young adult series but these books are pretty good!

The more I play the new Fire Emblem the more I kind of hate it. For every hour I spend actually fighting a battle or watching anime it feels like there's 3 hours of busywork and chores that add NOTHING to the experience but are essential if you want to succeed on the harder difficulty.

Playing Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave with Japanese audio and for some reason I find it jarring when Theodora calls her pirate boyfriend Bonaparte but his name in the English text is Bonaventure. I'm sure this happens all the time when localizing games but I've never really noticed it before.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was barely playable on the Nintendo Switch, with an average framerate of 28 FPS with dips as low as 13. If you bought it for $60 when it came out (or $80 if you bought the DLC), you now have the privilege of paying $30 to unlock the 60 FPS mode on the $500 Switch 2.

I bit the bullet and played Mortal Shell 2 ASAP and HOLY SHIT was that a wonderful decision It's not just a souls-like. A lot of it deliberately ISN'T a soulslike, and I think it's gonna turn away people who need to play this game yesterday. It's a methodical action game. That's different.
