It is weird how little you see this. Media is so desperate to avoid depicting trans women at all, and when they do it's often a queer author depicting queer relationships. I'm bi and I've found it way easier to date women (cis or trans) irl but it does feel sort of like being gay in prison.

It makes sense that people savescum. I savescum. People want optimal outcomes, and anything else feels extra bad when it's from random chance. But optimization is anathema to good storytelling: it removes tension and minimizes dynamic character relationships. It reduces narrative to power fantasy.

As exciting as a lucky dice roll can be in a story-heavy game, they often feel like a vestigial holdover from TTRPGs, where the abstraction of dice for social/story checks is necessary to keep events flowing forward. There also isn't savescumming in TTRPGs. Players have to adapt to a bad roll...

Was reading about the War of the Roses and this sounds like a Monty Python bit.

The film is written, directed, and co-stars Hitoshi Ozawa, a legendary Yakuza actor who is a villain in Yakuza 0, who got his fellow legends involved. This was his passion project inspired by one of his best friends, a trans woman, and he worked with the community for representative casting.

Years ago, I was playing someone's game and finished a quest in an unexpected way using stealth. It was one of the first times where I felt really rewarded for doing so and it was an awesome moment only marred by the scripting not accounting for it. The designer's response was to remove that option.

The fun part about Colony Ship's combat is how much you can affect the percentages. A thing you wind up doing is having your more accurate characters go for leg shots, which make enemies easier for everyone to hit. It makes every encounter feel like a puzzle in a really satisfying way.

Many people don't understand probability very well and many of them are resistant to having it explained to them. This leads some designers to creating mechanics that work like the player's instinctive (read: fucking wrong) understanding of probability, further confusing everyone.
