"Canada strong", "national interest", "sovereignty", "Orange Scary Bad Man" -- all propaganda to get Canadians to accept the erosion of climate protections, food security, labour rights, Indigenous rights, the public sector, and public ownership. And all working very well indeed.

The food people need is in grocery stores. They just need the permission slips (cash) to access it. Food banks should not exist. They are a symptom of failed policy. They exist because universal basic income doesn't. We need UBI and it's a fight because the people doing this are doing it on purpose:

Everything Carney says he needs private equity to build and finance has been done in the past by government. Instead of taxing wealth to finance these projects he is instead selling our infrastructure to the wealthy. In the end we own nothing while paying more for it.

The Liberals’ move to privatize airport operations is a mistake. Experience shows that adding a profit element can’t help but increase costs and drive cuts to service. And any foreign ownership of critical infrastructure touching our national security is clearly unwise in these times.
