I think a lot about labor and household labor — mostly because I hate doing it. I have an AI agent that I’m getting a lot of value out of, but it’s extremely extremely customized to my life. And it’s doing mostly “last mile” tasks — the labor of keeping these tasks automatable I am still carrying.

How do we incentivize people to paint wizards on their vans again I haven’t seen a wizard van in a decade and it feels like we lost something precious Can we offer up a tax credit? Little bags of shrooms? Start a wizard van painting program at vocational schools?

some people replying and saying ed sheeran can’t take the same risks as an established legend like david byrne, but then you look at olivia rodrigo who is 12 years younger than sheeran and just organized an entire festival to support ABORTION. bravery has little to do with age/experience.

I think many of us saw a few months back the Worse On Purpose about the All Clad pans whose layers separate and can slice your fingers open In you ever wanted to know what this looks like, it’s happening to the small saucepan I use almost daily (left) and not to my larger saucepan (right)
Two All Clad saucepans, the one on the left is experiencing the layers separation issue described by Worse on Purpose. The one on the right, which I use less frequently, is fine.

The gap between the layers is wide enough that I can run my fingernail through it

Yikes. Women accounted for all of the job losses and all of the labor force decline in July, according to @nwlc.org
WASHINGTON — Women accounted for 100 percent of the decline in the labor force in July, according to a National Women’s Law Center jobs analysis of monthly data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That brings the total net number of women who have left the labor force since January this year to 845,000. In comparison, there are 406,000 fewer men in the labor force now than in January.

A total of 165,000 women, aged 20 and over, left the labor force last month — meaning they are neither working nor looking for work — while men's labor force participation was unchanged. Overall, the economy lost 23,000 jobs in July. Women accounted for all of these losses, losing 32,000 jobs, while men gained 9,000 jobs. Women make up 50.1% of the workforce.
