The East Bay Times editorial against Measure RTM is so bad I had to refute it. Bad argument after inaccurate statement and then completely ignoring AC Transit's existence because it disproves their core argument that cuts over service improves transit. darrellowens.substack.com/p/voting-aga...

After voting, YIMBY Action leads couldn't reach a consensus on Prop 45, and won't be making an endorsement! This means that not a single YIMBY org in California is endorsing the measure (with one opposed). CEQA "reform" for sprawl & freeways is bad! Glad most of us recognize this. No on 45!

I am big believer in Auguste Gusteau’s philosophy adopted for legislation: anyone (ie non-lawyers) can read a statue. Too often people defer to gatekeepers to read bills or text for them to the detriment of democratic debate. The Yes side tested my limits, however.

Here’s the study. This line stood out. These panel upgrades are in truth mostly unnecessary to accommodate induction cooktops and are instead forced by an overly conservative electrical code www.jaci-inpractice.org/action/showP...
The cost of replacing gas stoves with electric stoves is likely to be a barrier for low-income communities. The high cost of electrical work needed to accommodate new stoves in our project likely reflects the older housing stock in Northeast Ohio (Table I). This often required upgrading the entire electrical panel in a house to install a new 240-volt kitchen outlet. Given the potential cost savings from reduced emergency room visits and hospitalizations, health payors may consider subsidizing the costs of changing gas stoves to electric stoves for patients with inadequately controlled asthma. A lower-cost alternative may be to
