Today 33 East Bay elected officials called on AC Transit Board to censure Director Joel Young for substantiated gender-based harassment. AC Transit faces challenges that require a rider focus. That's not possible while Young's misconduct goes unaddressed. Letter: drive.google.com/file/d/1CUpO...

Today while walking for @votemjforec.bsky.social I was reminded of the importance of canvassing door to door for local candidates. tl;dr I dispelled a lot of misinformation from Nextdoor and convinced the voter to vote for MJ for El Cerrito City Council and put up a yard sign.

We visited Powell’s this summer and bought our kid a book. When we got home from Portland, she got worried we had forgotten to return a library book. She was sure that a large place with so many books was a library. It took me a while to convince her we had bought the book and she could keep it.

If you’re considering supporting Prop 45 or know any undecided folks, read this thread and share it. Prop 45 would do so much more harm than good, increasing vehicle miles traveled and wrecking our climate. We still need more CEQA reform, but this is not the way.

This bill will have a HUGE impact for safety and for the future of e-bikes! So many complaints from individuals and media about e-bikes are actually about illegal e-motos. SB 1167 will get unsafe e-motos off our streets and paths and get riders onto legal, safe e-bikes or acoustic bikes instead.

Gas prices have risen dramatically this year. For the typical driver, that's $65 more spent on gas monthly. If you're a typical F-150 driver in states like Alabama, Kansas, Mississippi, or Missouri, you're spending >$350 a month on gas now. We've got to give people other options.

This is why I'm running to be your representative on @rideact.bsky.social's Board of Directors, Ward 3. I believe that the bus should be a viable commuting option in the East Bay, and not an option-of-last-resort that leaves people stranded.

What’s extra absurd about this is that in my 12 years on the BART Board - heading a rail agency - no BART director ever attended an out of country rail conference. If AC Transit directors really want to attend rail conferences, there are plenty in the US.

Or you could just ride a bus to BART (or to any other transit agency) and get up to $2.85 deducted from the fare immediately, not a future credit like this is. I’ve been using the free transfers from BART to AC Transit a lot for Transit Month. Those discounts add up!

Cyrus is right! The SPUR report is fantastic and also, it WILL get worse if RTM doesn't pass. If it fails, there will likely be no BART within ~3 years. Massive service cuts -> massive ridership decline -> revenue loss -> more cuts -> cycle continues... We must pass the regional transit measure!

What @rideact.bsky.social needs to have: an unwavering focus on the user experience. Bus reliability needs to be evaluated at every single board meeting, not as an abstract once every 6 months. When enough buses are cancelled or delayed, bus transportation becomes the option of last resort.

An incredibly well thought out and informed public comment about the AC Transit reliability crisis. If you're considering submitting a comment to the AC Transit Board, I recommend clicking and reading this, especially this portion, which shows how dire the situation is post-Realign service cuts:
Riders were asked to accept less frequency in exchange for reliability. Yet district data shows Service Operated was about 98.5 percent immediately before Realign in 2025. By July 2026, it had fallen to 89.93 percent. This is the second-lowest monthly result in all of AC Transit’s published KPI data. At the system average, a regular weekday rider has gone from encountering fewer than one dropped trip a month to about one every week.

Central and Eastern Contra Costa will be amongst the areas most impacted if BART slashes service and ultimately shuts down. No investment in the Caldecott Tunnel, no matter the size, can address this. We must pass Measure RTM, since our state prioritizes highways over transit.
