Guys, you have no idea how much I love car culture. I have been to lots of car shows and festivals over the years and it is rare for anyone to be disagreeable or wear their politics on their sleeve. I had a nice chat with Grasshopper’s builder - as in he built this lowrider in his backyard.

We had SO MUCH RAIN and gloom in Kansas City for over a week. Today was glorious - clear with a high in the low 70s. And I am here to tell you that the light was very, very good at the Mattie Rhodes Day of the Dead festival.

This was only a matter of time. In a very real way, the net effect of networked license plate readers is more like putting a GPS device on a car than it is like driving past individual security cameras. And if police wanted to track you over time w/ GPS device or your phone---they'd need a warrant.

The World Shipping Council has released its annual Containers Lost at Sea Report, showing that an estimated 1,478 containers were lost at sea in 2025. One major vessel loss accounted for 640 containers. As an aside, there were nearly 5m pieces of Lego inside a container lost at sea in 1997.
