We found disease activity was unrelated to youth-endorsed medical trauma, highlighting the complex nature of medical trauma in youth with IBD. Integrating disease-related distress assessment into care may identify at-risk youth and guide early intervention to support psychological resilience.

I see a lot of these patients who are referred to hematology due to known hematologic effects of gender affirming hormones. This decision will be devastating to them. And did they find out on the news? Get a phone call? A letter? Absolutely Heartbreaking.
