The more I think about this, the more angry it makes me. Man City have rendered a huge chunk of top level football pointless. Not just trophies, but goals and matches and moments. Some players best years wasted trying to play against a team built on fraud and lies.

A friend of mine works in AI and thinks bad things are about to happen. He sold his home and moved his family out the country. He said that if you own a home in a walkable San Francisco neighborhood near a taqueria with good veggie options, you should sell your home for super cheap right now.

Related, I feel the environmental movement really hasn’t grasped that the things the hyper rich actually covet are likely to destroyed by climate change. They don’t care about polar bears, grand cru Burgundy on the other hand.

Just had a wine epiphany. For some technical reasons we did not air dry the Ruche grapes this year and rather, destemmed them completely. Grapes were in better condition this year and flavors and fragrance lovely. But I realized I was missing the bouquet Garni. The stem rachis is the bouquet garni!

Nothing quite as radicalising as a visit to a National Trust stately home. Room after room of volunteers simpering about "the Duke of X"; "Lady Y"; or even just "the Family." What about a weekend a year run by some old-fashioned Marxist historians?

Will be interesting to see if the masked protestors in Dover get treated as badly as climate or anti-genocide protestors. (fWIW I don’t want any protestors treated as terrorists unless they actually commit acts of terrorism, but the double standards are often shocking.)

Churchy people. I’ve just been at a service at Christ Church in Cheltenham and there’s a really distinctive suspended cross. I asked both chaplains if they knew the story behind it, which neither did. Any ideas? @oldenoughtosay.com
Perspex cross with scratched nail designs and some almost barbera hepworthy thorns? Broader view to the apse.
