Interesting recipe using pumpkin vines from a pamphlet titled Nepali Kitchens.
Recipe for Fasicho Tarakari (pumpkin vines)
2 cups pumpkin vines
2 tbsp oil
tsp fenugreek seeds
tsp salt
tsp pepper

Select young tips of the pumpkin vine tender ones about 2-feet long wash and cut into 1 inch pieces, use leaves also. Heat the oil in a saucepan and fry the fenu greek seeds till it is black, add vines, salt and pepper. Cover and cook till tender. A few pieces of potatoes can be added for the variations.

We half- heartedly drove to the pumpkin patch this morning but decided not to enter because picking them in the (albeit delicious) heat whilst wearing summer clothes felt too odd.

This is a deeply delicious read
cover of The Social Graces by Renee Rosen illustrated with a period photo of four women in Edwardian large-brimmed floral-adorned hats and tightwaisted long sleeved dresses. They are facing the entrance to Washington Square in NYC, their backs towards us. The image is mainly black and white with pastel tints on their dresses, hats, and the sky.

Just caught up on the Christa Pike news story. 1. the cruelty and inhumanity are the point. They don't care if a prisoner suffers. 2. While I don't know if Pike was an intravenous drug user, a significant part of the prison population is/was making it hard to find & hit a patent vein.

All five men arrested in RAF base plot are British nationals
The five men who were arrested and subsequently released on bail are all British citizens, home secretary Shabana Mahmood has just told the Labour party conference.

She adds that the scene is “now safe” and the residents living near to the RAF base are now able to return home.

“Let this be a reminder: you will never defeat us,” he says.
