He's now resorting to trying to buy the election. Federal law makes it unlawful to knowingly and willfully pay, offer to pay, or accept payment for registering to vote or for voting. (52 U.S.C. §10307(c).) Any type of incentive is considered “payment.”

They disinvented the VCR. You might think that the reason we don't have VCRs anymore is because VCRs were supplanted by DVDs, PVRs and streaming, but that's not the case. They had it in for the VCR from the very start, and they never stopped trying to kill it. Eventually, they succeeded. 1/
A 1960s family living room in which a mom, dad and two kids are mesmerized by a cabinet-style TV. The image has been altered. The TV has an early 1990s VCR atop it. The TV screen is displaying a cross-sectioned human head with brains and spine on display. A huge fist has materialized in the room, with bloody spiked knuckle-dusters, smashing into the VCR. The oil painting over the sofa has been replaced with a pulp image of a male head, its cranium removed and replaced by a dome. Inside the dome is a red eight-segment VCR clock, displaying 12:00. The background in the painting is a tangle of cassette tape. The whole image's colors have been boosted, giving it an overexposed look.

2. "there is no such thing as a guaranteed high yield, this transaction with Elon Musk will be incredibly risky and not insured by the FDIC or CDIC, and there are many reasons why financial accounts and traditional investments are closely regulated"

3. "I used to be a literal bank teller for several years and my parents both worked for major banks for two decades. If you feel like goofing around with money, buy a raffle ticket from a local charity.

The Trump administration hates academic science funding, full stop. They hate where that money goes, and they hate who it goes to. They want to keep all that money for themselves, to hand out to favored cronies who can help them get elected and to steer yet more money and more power back into their hands.

That’s it. That’s the story

Lynda Barry did not squeeze your heart and simultaneously explain the point of all art with the barest of line drawings so you could tell me that AI is "inevitable."
HOW TO LOOK AT ART by Lynda Barry

In the first panel, a dog-headed woman, a mother, looks at a painting in the "Madonna with Baby Jesus" vein. A small blobby child is standing next to her.

Mother: IM NOT SURE HOW TO LOOK AT ART.
Child: WHATS SPOSTA HAPPEN?

In the second panel the dog-headed mother holds up her hands (paws?) trying to explain to the child.

Mother: SOMETHING BIG. A REVELATION.
SUDDENLY YOU JUST UNDERSTAND.

In the third panel dog-headed mother goes back to looking at the painting. The child holds up their arms to be lifted.

Mother: NOT SURE HOW TO MAKE IT HAPPEN
Child: HOW BOUT LIFT ME UP SO I CAN SEE BETTER

In the last panel, the dog-headed mother is holding the child, their position mirrored by the Madonna and baby Jesus in the painting.

Three panel comic. Panel 1: a chimpanzee in an enclosure is sitting on the ground and painting abstract streaks of color on a canvas lying in the grass. Panel 2: a couple is standing outside the enclosure, looking in. The girl says about the painting chimpanzee, “aww, that’s cute.” Panel 3: the chimpanzee is alone in his dimly lit studio, head in hands, holding a lit cigarette. He looks completely dejected, feeling misunderstood. There is a pair of glasses, a glass of whisky, crumpled paper, and an unfinished painting laid out on the desk in front of him. The walls and floor space of his studio are covered in his abstract paintings on canvases and paper. There is also a marble sculpture of a banana beside him.

If you'd like to know more about Russ Heath, a far more talented artist whom Lichtenstein made millions aping, this biographical comic is a good start.
A one-page six-panel comic by Russ Heath.

PANEL ONE:

Illustration of Russ Heath looking at a Lichtenstein in a museum.

CAPTIONS: Roy Lichtenstein's "WHAAM!" painting is based on one of my panels from an old DC war comic. Roy got four million dollars for it. I got zero.

PANEL TWO:

Illustration of Heath closer to the Lichtenstein.

CAPTIONS: The Museum of Modern Art invited me to the opening when they displayed it. However, I couldn't make it due to deadlines ... but I figure Lichtenstein owed me a drink at least.

PANEL THREE:

Illustration of Health pushing a shopping card into a supermarket.

CAPTIONS: These days, I'm on what they call a fixed income. Social Security supplemented with a few commissions. Social Security inches up a little, but groceries go up a lot. I had to cut out wine. Couldn't afford even a bottle. Damn, I'm going to miss wine.

PANEL FOUR:

Illustration of Heath meeting with a couple of others in a restaurant.

CAPTIONS: Fortunately, Hero Initiative was a big help. The first time I met with them, they gave me a 250-dollar gift card for the grocery. The even bought me a bottle of wine.

PANEL FIVE:

Illustration of Heath on the floor doing leg stretching exercises.

CAPTION: More importantly, they kept me going when I was laid up for a few months after my knee replacement surgery. Hey, it happens when you're 84 years old.

PANEL SIX:

Illustration of Heath in a comfy chair raising a glass of wine to the TV.

CAPTION: They're a wonderful organization that's helped many people. Wonderful guys. But of everything they've done, the thing I liked best was the bottle of wine.

WORD BALLOON: "Well, Roy, I guess I finally got that drink."

More context on this #Artemis II image: * This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right * The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon: ☀️🌍🚀🌕
A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)
